If you are one who likes to support local, small businesses, this is THE place to go! Every time I go to Local D'Lish the people who work there connect with every person that walks in there - they are so sincere, and helpful. They have created an amazing community. They have an amazing variety of foods in their market and the classes look like so much fun! I highly recommend this place.
Local D'lish is a wonderful store for those who know what they are about. They are about providing locally sourced products from skilled artisans and farmers. Their quality is second to none and the staff are superb. Yes, this means that a gallon of milk costs a bit more than at Cub foods, but it should. Produce may also costs a bit more than the farmer's market, but it should because you are buying from a grocer, not the farmer. Learn about about how larger chains source their products and you will understand that paying for farm-fresh products is worth it! I've been a weekly shopper since they opened recommend them to everyone I can!
Absolutely love my D'lish! They have incredible food from local people. I was just there today! The owner and other staff greet you and are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. While I am shopping and see items I haven't seen before, they are quick to assist and answer questions. There have been several occasions where they have let me sample unfamiliar foods.
This place is amazing! (They offer cooking classes too. I have yet to attend one, but something I think that is a great opportunity for people.)
Disappointed – Visited during the end of July. Farmers markets are in full swing. However. this place had only a small selection of local product. Very pricey compared to what you spend at a farmers market. Tomatoes, yes they had a few but $$$. $2.50 for a small pint of green beans - local farmers market you get 3x that amount for that prie. Had alot of products I would not consider local or made by a small business:(. Wanted to buy a bag of the carmel type popcorn but the bag was so small it fit in the palm of my hand and it cost $9. Didn't see anywhere the hot lunches the other review mentioned. Definately was not worth my trip into Minnesapolis.
Citysearch Editorial Review – Local D’Lish is like a little general store overflowing with artisan-made food and ingredients. Warm, sunny walls make it instantly feel like an outdoor market. And the store shelves--outfitted with baskets full of goodies and country charm--offer nearly everything a locavore’s heart desires. There’s local honey. Milk. Jams in well-designed jars. Spices and herbs and seasonal produce. And in the summer months, there are vines of tomatoes and herbs dotting the store. Local D’Lish also hosts cooking classes and sells ready-made hot lunches featuring fresh, local ingredients.
