I have never had such a hard time with a doctor (Dr. Kay In) before in my life. I went to her in late May to get something to help me sleep. She gave me Alprazolam. The prescribed dosage did not work, so I increased the dosage and then contacted her office to let them know that the very next day, which worked beautifully...best sleep this chronic insomniac has had in decades (literally). When I went back to her the next week, she didn't like that I increased the dosage, so put me on something else (that made me paranoid and gave me diarrhea), so then put me on something else (that made me aggressive - and I am never aggressive). I went back to her in late July to plead with her to put me back on the Alprazolam so I could get some sleep because it worked beautifully for the week I had it. She agreed to do so for only one month and offered no suggestions as to what we do at that point. She stated while I was there that she thought "something else was going on here", but offered absolutely no opinions as to what that might be...I was looking to solve the problem, but it seemed as though she just did not want to treat me. I went to her because your web site said she is a woman's health doctor and I am suffering with menopause symptoms, making my insomnia worse than it already always is. She was extremely cold...no warm bedside manner at all. I even brought my 72 year old mother in to this office visit with me in order to try to convince Dr. In that I am not some drug addict...that I was about to move my mom from TX to RI and just needed to be able to sleep...that I need to sleep in order to function (but not just for one month). Dr. In expressed her concern that I could get addicted to the Alprazolam (then why prescribe it to me in the first place?)...I explained to her that I am not an addict...that I have never been addicted to any drug, nor to alcohol, and had my mom there as my witness. I have no medical coverage and no job (how can you work when you cannot sleep?), yet in a serious attempt to find relief, I spent over $500 on Dr. In and the labwork and the medicines and she found the answer for me and then refused to fill the Rx any more. And we are talking about 1 mg per day...a very low dosage of that medication. I had to go back to my old doctor in Cedar Park (spending more money) to get the Rx filled. This was all complete nonsense. I understand Dr. In trying to be cautious, but good grief, this was ridiculous and a complete waste of money and time (the many weeks of trying the other meds)...and on top of it, her coldness was awful. As we were walking out of the office, my mother turned and said to me, "That woman is a horrible doctor. You should never come here again." I could not agree more. If she just wants to deliver babies and not deal with women's issues other than that, then y'all should advertise her services that way. And how about throw in a little compassion?
