Sorry Laura; do not give your patronage to this salon!

Laura was accommodating two years when I got a free hair cut because I was donating my hair to Locks of Love. Anyone will cut it for a price but finding a salon that gets the whole nonprofit thing is difficult--even though I don't want a style but a flat cut across. Easy peasy. Their salon is tiny, say 10 feet square--15 if I'm being generous.

HOWEVER, I called today to do another donation (why not the hair grows anyway) and Johnny flat out denied that they did that. He proceeded to be condescending and rude, telling me that Locks of Love sells hair to the cancer kids and that I need to do more research! They sell hair it is true (any donations under 10 inches and damaged hair donations are sold to offset costs) but wigs are free to the kids or sliding scale (but most families with cancer kids don't have the incomes to pay). I've been to their facility and donated hair five times. Johnny is doing a complete disservice to a valuable nonprofit because he likes to hear himself talk on topics he clearly knows nothing about! If he acts this way about charity imagine what he does to clients' wishes!

Lying about how a nonprofit does business and discouraging donations is like stealing from cancer kids; deplorable. Johnny should be ashamed.

worst cut/color ever – Run away

This is a dirty little hole in the wall shop next to the Cowgirl. I made an appointment without knowing what it was like. When I walked in I wanted to turn around and walk right out again, and I should have. I had a color and cut with Jane. I wanted to keep my blond hair and I needed a trim. She put the lightener on and did another cut while that processed, but she never checked my hair once. The lightener was left on too long, and it turned out way lighter than I wanted. Two toners later and it still looked like a bleached mess. She then cut my hair, but she wasn't paying attention. She was too busy trying to act cool with the high school kid in the next chair. Her cutting methodology basically consisted of walking around and haphazardly snipping away chunks of my hair. I think your hair should look better when you walk out of a salon than when you walk in, and that was completely not the case. The cut was so bad she didn't charge me, but I am still left with damaged busted-looking hair and a cut that I had to have fixed at my regular salon. I had to re-tone my hair myself. She was totally unprofessional and incompetent. Oh, and the shop is filthy. Every surface seems to be covered with crud. The sink was dirty, jar that held combs was crusted, trash overflowing. Just gross and awful.

Great Santa Fe Salon – I love this place because they love what they do. I can sit in the chair and feel comfortable letting them take the reins. We made an appointment and went through a cut. Once it was all blow dried and everything, Laura goes "I want to try something...". she explained a technique she knows for natural-looking highlights which required another wash/style/and blow dry. She didn't charge for it. Another 15-20 minutes of work because she wanted my hair to look as amazing as possible! No one else touches these curls!
