This ornate theater lends old-fashioned romance to modern-day plays, lectures and concerts. – In Short
Built in 1895 over the ruins of the burned-down Stadt Theater, the Pabst was modeled in the tradition of the grand French opera house. Upon entering the hall's baroque interior, the crystal chandelier twinkles overhead like a thousand diamonds, and the theater exudes romance even in the nosebleed section. The venerable theater hosts chamber orchestras, comedy companies, folk musicians, touring plays, lectures and special benefits. The stage has hosted some of the world's greatest performers, including Enrico Carouso, Pavlova, the Barrymores and Rex Harrison.
THE BEST SOUND IN CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – Acoustically the best place to hear music in the city. Heard Manhatten Transfer there. Outstanding place. Not a bad seat in the house. Beuatiful settings. Great place for a romantic evening.
