The doctors are good- I never have an issue there. I've been taking my daughter there for 4 years now, and I only stay there because it's been too much of a hassle to go anywhere else since I only take her when she's sick. However, I want to change badly, because they now ask YOU to get there 15 minutes early, but then you sit and wait for another 30 minutes to an hour in the waiting room (not to mention the office!) to see a doctor. It's really ridiculous. They either need to plan better, stay open later, open earlier... something to get them on a normal schedule. Both my husband and I work full time, and it's ridiculous that we have to take anywhere from 2-3 hours out of our day just for a 10 minute doctor visit. It's only gotten worse year by year. I'm just tired of going to their office. Wouldn't recommend unless you literally can't find another place with really good doctors.

Here are the BEST doctors there because they do not rush you and show genuine concern:

Dr. Todd

Dr. Wilson

Dr. Gelber

Dr. Mary W.

Sherill Steen is a PA but is on par with the above.

All have great personalities. Either doctor Wilson or Gelber (I think it is Wilson) takes a picture of you child to remember who they are and to show them how big they are becoming... the kids love this.

I have seen these doctors several times and none of them are our pediatrician. We have doctor Rutledge... he is ok... friendly enough to get through the exam... that's about it. Despite being there for many years we once called about an ear infection asking to call-in medication to the pharmacy and he insisted we should return again first and refused... of course, the nurse called back and told us this. We did not want to keep waiting to "see if it just gets better" while suffering. Left a bad taste in my mouth but not bad enough to leave for another doctor... seems to be a money thing. We have seen doctors there who will be more proactive about such reoccurring situations. Otherwise, he is a knowledgeable doctor.

To be fair, I have no experience with the other doctors not mentioned in this review.

Why is Dr. Parmer STILL there? We saw her and she is VERY cold as mentioned. Second time we saw her, it was a fever and she did not notice that he had an ear infection. We went back the next day and Dr. Rutledge discovered the infection. If you can't deal with kids or people, get out of medicine and spare us further pain. If you must go there with an emergency and she is the only one available, DON'T waste your money or time. See if you can get another doctor or go somewhere else altogether.

Absolutely horrible place. They will charge you $70 just for your child's paperwork to move him to a different pediatrician !! That is insane. Also Dr Shefali parmer really deserves to have a license revoked. My son's ear drum burst the next day because she did not even bother to look inside it !!

Yep, Cornerstone Pediatric of Cary is a place where money talks. You have to pay extra if you want paperwork to go faster and if you miss your appointment that'll be $70. Is there any good healthcare office that I can count on?

Dr. Todd is the best doctor there. She is so personable, caring and has such an amazing rapport with my two children. You can tell she loves these children like her own. She spends so much time with you and I never feel rushed. She helped my child through bronchiliotis and pneumonia. Wonderful practitioner and I highly recommend her! The staff can use some improving, however. I get a handful of sweet nurses and some who are just plain rude. I don't think it's fair to judge an entire practice based on a few bad lemons. Dr. Todd is a truly a gem. There aren't that many great doctors these days. She's amazing!

Dr. Parmar - Out of touch with reality – I've been taking my kids to Cornerstone Peds for almost 15 years...love the staff...love the doctors...have time and time reccommended them and raved about them. Took my child back today for what I would consider a "follow up" from yesterday's visit, since symptoms are not improving. What I was frustrated with was having to pay another copay. For years, I have bit my tongue about this issue and the one time I say something, I was made to feel like an over-reactive difficult mother who was complaining about the previous day's exam (which I was not). I fully understand how the human body works, how new pain/symptoms can develop and how 24 hours can make a difference. Dr. Parmar informed me that her insurance has no co-pay and how, "Maybe I should look into getting a different insurance plan." How out of touch with reality can a someone be! I can't think of many people outside of those who have to buy their own insurance that have much of a choice in the plans that their company picks out! Is there some magical drive thru window that I can order this through? Most of us are just thankful to have health insurance. And how insensitive to just assume that everyone has an extra $25 to spend from one day to the next. She has no concept of the reality that many of us go through just to make it from one day to the next in the economy today. What's even more frustrating is that you are made to pay your copay before services are rendered. No matter how you look at it, the patient is still the customer...or should be.

12 years and still happy – We have been taking our children to Cornerstone Pediatrics for over 12 years. During that time we have always had one doctor who was our primary doctor and saw all our children for all their well checks and often for sick visits too if they were available. Another commenter said that they felt the expansion has been for the worst, but I disagree. Before they added a couple more doctors, we would occasionally call at 10 am during a busy sick season and be told that we couldn't be seen that day - I haven't had that experience in several years now. We love our primary doctor, Dr. Wilson and gladly wait 1/2 hour or so to see him because I know that he's late because he's taking the time a patient needs and that he will do the same with my child. I have never felt rushed when I had a concern. I don't have any experience with the office manager, but the nurses have all been kind and pleasant as are the desk personel and those who schedule the appointments. As a matter of fact, I think scheduling visits for children who need to be seen, but not immediately has gotten better in recent years and the staff has worked to get me appointments at convenient times with my preferred physician. I will say that I know many people who use Cornerstone Peds and we all have a different doctor that we love! The one that I don't like is someone else's favorite, so if you don't mesh with one provider, there are others to choose from.

Will be switching ASAP! - Used for our 2 kids for over 6 yrs – We have been taking our two kids to Cornerstone Pediatrics for over 6 years. We were happy our first 3 years but it has been going down hill for the past 3 yrs... A lot has happened: they moved to a bigger facility, it looks like the number of patients they serve has doubled, a lot of new physicians and their nursing and office management folks have all changed. None of these changes resulted in good customer service, that's for sure! My average wait time on my last 4 appointments was over 50 minutes with NO apologies.

Last straw was when we signed in a 7:45am on a Monday during their sick walk-in window (which is 7:30 - 8:00) to get my 6 years old seen since she has been running a fever over the weekend. The front receptionist called our name at 8:15am to tell us that my daughter could not be seen now and that we would need to make an appointment and come back during that time. Reason: they have maxed-out the number of patients they can see during sick walk-in window. No apologies or explanation for why they did not tell us this when we first signed-in. We ended up seeing a physician at 9:00am after we talked to the office manager (who's attitude screamed "I don't care" ). We will be switching pediatrician for sure, and so are many of our friends who use Cornerstone and have had similar experiences. Very unfortunate !!!!

New mom – my impression about Dr. Sefali Parmar has changed over a period of time. I have observed that she is very dominating, control freak, never tries to understand parent's point of view. She just cannot handle toddlers, my son cries as soon as he sees her.Once my child was sick with high fever and cold symptoms. I took him for a check up with Dr. Parmar ,she was so annoyed that my sick child was crying and actually yelled at me " mommy control your child"

Rude and all about money – Not only are the staff rude but they charge you for appointments even when the doctor doesn't give your child an exam!

My daughter went here for her newborn check up, she was over a week old because she was in the NICU for 1 week. After her first check up the doctor wanted me to bring her back two days later to make sure she was gaining weight, which i did. For this "visit" the nurse weighed my child, the dr poked her head in and told me she is gaining weight, asked if i had any questions and then left the room. For this second visit I recieved a bill in the mail for a copay. I was pretty annoyed seeing as the doctor didn't even look at my child (literally didn't look at her). I called billing and they told me they billed an office visit because of "nursing problems" which was not why i was there. The doctor wanted to make sure she was gainging weight, I already knew my daughter was gaining weight.

I called the office manager to dispute the bill, and she was RUDE, short and obviously didn't care that I was irritated. She told me that my insurance company is making me pay a copay, not the pediatrics office. First off, the office manager didn't apologize that i was upset, she didn't even ask my name! and well frankly, I think it's ridiuculous to bill my insurance, when the doctor didn't even touch my daughter and she spent less than 2 minutes in the room!

I was mad enough to change practices, and then they woudn't even transfer my daughter's records without charging me $25. What the heck! Don't get me wrong, I work at a medical office, I know what a pain it is to fax or copy records. I would understand paying $10 or $15 dollors for 7 years of records, but my daughter was there twice!

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, unless you like overpaying for rude office staff.
