My husband co-signed for my daughter to purchase a 2003 BMW 325i (one owner, 70,000 miles) at Hanna Imports. Our daughter looked the vehicle over. The only problems with it at the time were; 1) it was missing a radio knob and 2) the passenger side mirror cover does not fit correctly. When closing this loan, the sales person who worked with us wrote on a piece of paper that the radio knob and mirror would be replaced at the dealers expense. The sales person also signed this piece of paper. We were told that it is HIGHLY recommended to purchase a vehicle maintenance warranty through a separate company, as the BMW was a 2003 and repairs could be costly. We paid $1,500 for this warranty.
After 3 - 4 weeks of waiting for a radio knob and the new side mirror part, we began calling Hanna Imports. We were promised each time that the parts would be mailed to us, as we have to drive an hour to get there. After 3 months, we received a package with 3 used radio knobs from different vehicles that did not fit our daughters car. No mirror was included, as promised. We began calling the dealer again regarding radio knob and the passenger side mirror. Finally, we called a local BMW company and ordered a radio knob and paid for it ourselves. Also, the first month of owning the vehicle our daughter took it back to Hanna Imports to tell them that the drivers window was making a funny noise. Her complaint was basically disregarded and she was told there was nothing wrong with the drivers window.
In October our 19 year old daughter will be making her 4th car payment; and STILL no passenger side mirror part. We are still calling the dealer and getting a run around each time.
To date, these are the following problems that are wrong with the BMW (mind you we've only had it 5 months): 1) The check engine light came on in month 1 - due to a smog filter on the engine, which the maitenance warranty DOES NOT COVER, 2)The tires were so shredded that we could see wires hanging out of them (we replaced the tires), 3) The wood grain on the back passenger doors is falling off, 4) The drivers door window is off track and will not roll up or down at all now (this was one of the above complaints that was taken to the dealer in month 1 - that was disregarded), 5) Sometimes the volume control does not work on the steering wheel, 6) The remote control does not unlock any doors except for the drivers door.
Our daughter just called the dealer again tonight, 9/25/13 and the person she spoke to told her to take the vehicle to a mechanic that accepts the maintenance warranty we purchased to have the vehicle fixed. From what we have found from mechanics who accept this insurance, it is only for MAJOR repairs and NOT for door windows, smog filters, etc.
I have no idea how this complaint will go, however when we told someone at Hanna Imports that we are going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau the response we received was that a complaint to the Better Business Bureau was really no big deal.
Seems to me that there is a severe lack of concern for integrity and character with this dealership. What seems right is that the window should be fixed and we should receive the passenger side mirror part. Ideally, you would think all of these things could be repaired, but I'm sure the "AS IS" clause will come into play.
Great customer service, friendly employees. Good selection!
I have to get a new Audio system/ otherwise great service- Brandon helped me. Thanks!
Great car, great deal , great service! Brandon was very good to us. Great experience- friendly, knowledgeable service.
Awesome Experience!. Great Customer Service with initial purchase.
Worst experience EVER! – I have to tell you these people have junk cars and clean them up to look good! They are cheaters and will take you for a ride! If you want to be taken advantage of then go here! I have been cheated and have lost $13,000.00 by purchasing a car from these people! Don't be fooled by a shiny paint jog and clean interior! Stay away! I have found a group of people that are in the same boat and we are considering a group legal action! Stay away!
Buyer Beware! – Bad Experience, Be Careful: Do your research first. They have nice vehicles but always get the vehicle checked out by your personal mechanic. Also be aware that a carfax can be clean on a vehicle out there but doesn't mean that the vehicle wasn't in an accident before. Differently check the paint on the vehicle of interest because there have been concerns with previous damages being covered up. As always, check out other reviews on google and yahoo. Hanna Imports is not a place I would recommend to others.
