Bad food, bad service – We have been frequent customers of Benjarong for the last few months. We always get the crab rangoon and the red curry without basil. With the exception of them sometimes forgetting to withhold the basil, we didn't have any problems until about 3 weeks ago when I had food poisoning symptoms till the wee hours of the morning. We stayed away but decided to go back tonight after my cravings got the best of me. The cream cheese and crab inside the crab rangoon was hard and covered in a film of oil/grease/disgustingness. You could actually crumble it in between your fingers. It must have been sitting out for hours. And they forgot to withhold the basil AGAIN. We called and requested that a fresh order of crab rangoon be delivered to our home. We live less than a mile away and in light of the various issues we have had in the past, after paying good money for food that was not made to order and/or not fresh, I felt it was only fair that they deliver it to us, rather than us having to go out again. After being placed on hold several times (huge language barrier), they asked for our address, which we gave them. We were placed on hold again and then were told that they could not deliver the food to us. Apparently, their delivery driver was only available for new orders, not ones they messed up and had to replace. We asked to speak with a manager or the owner, but we were told they were not available. They tried telling us that they would give us a credit for next time (which is what they did for us before) but we refused. They were also mocking my husband ("talk too fast") and laughing about the situation (apparently overpaying for old, stale and possibly contaminated food is funny). I returned the food and demanded my money back. To add insult to injury, they continue to refuse to say when the owner/manager will be in. We will never return.

Terrible Thai food. The worst I've had in all my experiences as a Thai food lover over the last decade. I'M BAFFLED by the positive reviews on Yelp which give Benyarong three or four stars but go on to say that the food was disappointing. Are they pity stars, people?

Benyarong's food is simply terrible. It is flat, tasteless, either too brightly colored (as to look unnatural) or colorless enough to look just plain disgusting. Also so overpriced as to offend your intelligence. This place wouldn't last a New York second in a better neighborhood.

I HATE restaurants like this. Its strip mall location (southwest corner, Vons parking lot) may predict poor quality, but $16 for frozen salmon drenched in bland sauce with wilted vegetables? No thank you. Subway is right next door.

We ordered several things: the awful, disgusting Tofu Royal; the detestable Shrimp Red Curry; the bland and wilted Mixed Vegetables; and something else I blocked from my memory.

In full disclosure this is the second time my boyfriend and I ate here because we forgot how truly terrible it was the first time. I think I had the flu back then... You know how you kind of forget days at a time when you're sick? Anyway, a very fatal lapse in judgment on our part...

But it did enable me to give my WORST REVIEW EVER:

It was absolutely colorless and nauseating to look at. Immediately upon seeing it we thought there had been an accident or mistake in the kitchen. What self respecting chef would send this out into the world?

The boyfriend had the overpriced and blood-f-ing-red "Red Curry Shrimp." Awful to look at, terrible sauce texture and terribly flat with nothing but spice. It had all of five frozen shrimp.

Look, I can't continue about how bad this place is. But I will never go there again. What you need to know is that there are simply too many Thai places within a mile's radius to even be tempted by a place that charges such obscene prices for such trashy, soulless fare as this.

In short, BENJARONG HAS IT ALL WRONG and you should avoid this place. :(
