Reviews for Cha An

There is no place more Japanese, even in the Japan-crazed east village, than this upstairs tea parlor, where English is barely spoken and tea is taken with the utmost seriousness.

Cha An

Japanese dessert bar with quirky selections. A personal fav is the black sesame creme brulee. It can get pricey, but it's most definitely a date place to take your latest squeeze and impress.

Sweet Japanese Dessert – Cha An is a true treasure in East Village. Their desserts are sweet and delicate. I came again with some visitors and friends, and everybody was happy with their selection.

I ordered the Black Sesame Creme brulee and I love it! The creme brulee is sweet but not overpowering. The taste of black sesame lingers. My boyfriend got their seasonal special and it was like an ice drink, which has a lot of Japanese sweets inside. That is quite unique as well.

My cousin got their lychee sake cocktail and wow it was too strong for me :)

There is always a wait here though so be prepared. Nevertheless, it is a good alternative to western desserts and you could taste a good variety of Japanese teas.

A neighborhood gem! – I almost want to keep this place a little secret all to myself. But I love this sanctuary too much not to share.

Nestled on a quiet part of 9th St Little Tokyo, the easy to miss jewel beckons you for a wonderful treat of its drinks, desserts, and pre-fix menus.

I know as I walk up the flight of stairs, I will hang my stress on the coat hook. Don't expect anything grande, but do expect to be pleasantly treated. The food is all tasty, with the menu changing once in a while. Great selection of teas and sakes as well.
