Vietnamese comfort food.Noodle salad is good, but pork confit is outrageous, and mushroom bahn mi is so satisfying.Start with the garlic fries, try a pot pie and order a house soda.
I ate here on a cold rainy day and it totally hit the spot. Their Vietnamese coffee is SO delicious. Bonus: Their interior is nice to look at.
Giving a modern diner twist to Vietnamese food. The pho ga is fragrant and homey. The pot pie divine. The pork confit really steals the show, not to be missed!
Citysearch Editorial Review – Offering a welcome alternative to Highland Park's slew of Mexican eateries, this popular spot serves up Vietnamese fusion in a sleek, urban storefront. Inside, the space is simple, clean and stylish, with tall ceilings, an exposed brick wall and plywood tables. While the menu features Vietnamese mainstays like pho and banh mi (simply called "baguettes" here), you'll also find some all-American comfort food influences. Starters include spicy shoestring fries sprinkled with garlic, cilantro and chiles, and rice cakes topped with tofu and scallions. Rice noodle salads, beef stew and curry dishes round out the entree selections, but it's the celebrated chicken pot pie that gets the most attention. While it can lean a bit light on the chicken content, the rich curry with a dense-but-flaky biscuit top is well worth waiting the requisite 30 minutes. There's also a vegetarian version, and both vegans and vegetarians will find plenty of inspiring menu options. House-made sodas (blood orange or Meyer lemon) are a refreshing way to extinguish the heat with sweet. Be sure to check the "local, seasonal, sustainable" chalkboard to see where your food hails from; you may be noshing on Neiman Ranch pork, Kendall Farms chicken or Yang Farms yu choy, along with an assortment of organic veggies. The service can be slow when it's busy, but hey, it's BYO beer and wine, so what are you complaining about?
