Rude Bad Customer Service Buyer Beware!!!! – I have to echo the other reviewers and have the same bad experience with working with the gentleman assuming as well to be the owner (the name on my receipt indicates that his name is "JOE"). I wanted the boots but they did not have it available on my size. I agreed to have it ordered on the 4th of May 2012 with the understanding that it will be available within 2 weeks. I paid for the merchandise by credit card and the gentleman promised to call me to let me know when the boots are in the store for me to pick up. Two weeks later 18th May, I did not hear from them but patiently waited to see if by chance I will get a courtesy call to let me know what the status of the order. 21 days later (25 May) I called and spoke to a gentleman and requested to know what is the status on the order. Without even providing him with my name or the details of the order he proceeded to interrupt me and said quoting "your boots are on back ordered and will be here Monday". I politely asked why I did not even receive a courtesy call letting me know that the shoes was still on back order. He proceeded to say again quoting "My gosh it has not even been two weeks". Once again I politely pointed out that the purchase was made on the 4th and two weeks or 14 calendar days would be the 18th. He rudely then said no two business weeks. Ok two business weeks would still be the 18th and today is the 25th. He then said your shoes will be here. I told good but I don't want it anymore and I will call the credit card company to dispute the charge since I have no merchandise to show for the purchase. He rudely then said "do what you want but your shoes will be here and I will not cancel". Sadly to say with this kind of service I am surprise that this establishment is still in business. I just hope that users would read my review and the other two reviews and be forewarned with the service and the attitude you will receive. Buyer beware! I just wished I read the other reviews prior to even setting foot as this establishment. GOOD LUCK TO YOU "JOE"!
Great mom 'n pop boutique with unique styles & quality shoes – I saw the other reviews and was surprised because I've been shopping here for a few years now and have always had good interactions with the sales staff and management. Many of my friends also shop here regularly and have never had problems.
This shop has a great selection of very unique styles of shoes and they will often give you a better deal if you're a loyal customer. I've gotten many great shoes for work and for going out from this place and have always been very satisfied with the quality and have gotten numerous compliments on the unique styles I've bought here.
Bad, bad business practices – SCRPAD'ORO shoe store on Colorado St in Pasadena Calfiornia. Do not ever go there!
About three months ago I was in this newish shop and found some shoes I liked. The size in the syle I wanted was too small so I paid for the shoes and was told by Fannie that they would call me when the shoes came in. They never came in. I finally called six weeks later and was told by Fannie that the shoes I wanted were no longer available. She suggested I come in and take another pair of shoes. I said those were the ONLY shoes I wanted in the entire store. I wanted my money back. She said she would get back to me. She did not. So I went in there to talk with her. She said there was a problem and that she would do her best to resolve it. She found my order on file and in their computer/cash register. So again I waited. Then I called and got the owner Joseph, I told him what had happened and he told me to bring my credit card in and that they would refund my card. (at least that is what I heard.) So today I went in and Fannie and Joseph were there and he refused to refund my money. He produced the shoes that he said I had ordered and said since I did not want them he would give me a credit so I could buy another pair of shoes with the $174.50 I had spent. I said no those are not the shoes I ordered, Fannie had now disappeared, I became very angry and said I want my money refunded to my credit card he said no, here was the shoe I ordered and I was refusing it. That is not the case at all. The shoes he say are the ones I ordered are not there at all. If they were why was I not called?
This is a very scary place and I know they are not used to the business laws of California. I plan to file a complaint with the Pasadena business entity and take any other legal recourse what is available to me. DO NOT EVEN
WALK IN THERE. I wish someone had warned me. Now I am out $174.50 and have no shoes!
This place is a rip off! – Don't even bother, you can get the same brands somewhere else for literally 100% less. These people mark their prices up to at least 150% and then puts a sign up on the window that says 50%-70% off to lure you in. Seriously, even Nordstrom sells for less plus you have a Return Policy, because these guys does NOT offer returns and it's written all over inside the store, and they'll make sure of that!
Steer clear, do yourself a favor and shop around.
High-priced & money-hungry! – I've pass by this place a few times but never gave much attention to it, until one day and out of the blue, I'd decided to step foot in and take a peek. The inventory was pretty extensive, but somehow it is lacking the appeal of a high-end retailer of fine leather goods and rather of an overdecorated and overpriced item shop. The familiar brands are heavily overpriced (and so are the obscured), by that I meant 35%-40% higher than what the manufacturer's suggested retail pricing (msrp). Usually, many products sell at 10-20% below the MSRP, but this is the complete opposite. If you haven't shopped around; get ready to get screwed big time with a one-way-ticket!
A friend of mine had shopped there recently and experienced somewhat of a horrible experience regarding their exchange/return policy. Initially, her experience was bombarded with pushy sales individual(s) during the purchase. The next day, her shoe didn't fit quite too well and she'd decided to go in for an exchange. The owner 'Joseph' greeted her and replied that she might be there to purchase another pair; until she told him the reason why she was there...then he immediately changes his mood and remarked "No exchange"! "No refund"! He didn't even budged one bit nor wanted to listen to what you have to say. Basically, you buy and you're alone, but come back for more.
I hate to say this but, in this country we do business with ethics and professionalism, which and unfortunately, the shop owners are lacking. Luckily, I've made my purchase online elsewhere and ended up saving a good $143 (and backed by a no-hassle Exchange/Refund policy) instead of giving money to Scarpa. Unfortunately, for my friend, she couldn't do much and also overpaid $70 for her pair of shoes.
Word of advice: Shop before you even consider doing business with these folk and in this place.
