Pub Food - yum! – I read reviews on here and was hesitant, but my experience was great! Service was good -- friendly & prompt. My sister and I went there to watch a football game. It was relatively buzzing with people, but not overwhelming and loud. The menu was hard to choose from -- everything sounded good! She had the fish & chips, and I had the veggie burger.... OMG this veggie burger is SO good. It's a rice-based patty, mixed with cheese & veggies, and it was seasoned perfectly! It's VERY filling -- you could split it and be totally full. The sweet potato fries are my favorite! Decent beers on tap and a modest wine list round out the full bar. We'll be back! And based on the table next to us, I have GOT to try the wings next time... they SMELLED delish.
Stay Away – This is one of the worst dining experiences my boyfriend and I have had. We arrived at the Archive Room, and were seated promptly. After about 10 minutes, a waitress finally took our drink order. It wasn't busy, after all, it was a Tuesday night, at 7:30pm. It took over 10 minutes to bring one beer, a coke, and a glass of water to our table.
Not only is the beer outrageously expensive ($5+), mine had the odd aftertaste of soap. Mmmm, soap flavored beer.
After a long 8 minutes passed, the waitress finally took our order. A simple Rueben and fish n' chips is what we ordered. The food took less than 10 minutes to arrive at our table.
We thought things were looking up, until we spotted the fish. Completely oil soaked and nasty.
My Rueben was hard to chew through and the meat was obviously not cut correctly.
We will never go back to the Archive Room. Terrible service, terrible food. Avoid at all costs.
Enjoyable bar - food leaves much to be desired! – Upon arriving we noticed a special's board out front advertising a 12 oz Bourbon Rib-eye...we were in the mood for steak.
After scanning the menu we decided to start with a lemonade and a diet Coke and the Artichoke Spinach dip. The dip ended up being slightly on the runny side and was served with really greasy corn totilla chips, 4 carrot and celery sticks and one split cherry tomato.
We also ordered one side cesar salad to go along with our steak special which we ordered medium; we asked that the salad be brought out before the entree.
The appetizer arrived quickly. The salad then arrived before we were even able to finish the appetizer; as did our entrees just a few minutes later. The steaks were to be 12 oz Rib-eyes, but ended up being 6 oz of steak/6 oz of fat. The steak was chewy and lacked much flavor and was even under-cooked on part of one of the steaks. The steak was served with broccoli, which was under-cooked and not ripe, and bland and grainy mashed potatoes. Not to mention one of our steak knives was dull and unable to cut through the steak.
Our bill was $51...our money would have been better spent at Outback Steakhouse.
We will not be going back unless it is to simply sit at the bar, but never again will we subject ourselves to the poor quality of food at the Archive Room.
