Closed – Purchased a Living Socail discount cupon $15 for $30 of food purchased. Drive 26 miles on a Wednesday at 5:15 PM. Door is locked, Window blinds are down. No one there. Go to their web site, and the website is down.

Wonder how many cupons they sold. Must have been a going out of business sale.!!

Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful – We had been waiting patiently for this place to open in their new location after reading the great reviews on their old location. And boy, was it worth the wait. My wife and I have traveled extensively round the USA and across Europe and this is some of the best seafood we have encountered anywhere. The fried shrimp were amazing (just the lightest and crispiest of coatings), the hushpuppies divine, but what stood out, by a mile, was the amazing crab cakes. Big chunks of lump crab, perfectly seasoned and irresistible. Pair that up with the warm welcome, great location and incredibly good prices and you have a real winner. Go there, enjoy, write a review so others get to hear about the Hole in the Wall Crab Shack. It's that good! A taste of Chesapeake Bay right here in the Carolinas. Can't wait to go back and try their Garlic Crabs. The small place with a big, big taste indeed!

Best Crabs I've Ever Had – This place is amazing. The customer service was incredible. The owner really cared that we enjoyed his place and wanted to come back. He would have bent over backwards for us.

The crabs were fantastic. I had the garlic crabs. True to the owner's recommendation, I was blown away. I don't know how I'll ever eat crabs any other way now. My wife, not being a fan of whole crabs, had the crab cake combo. I was overwhelmed by her crab cake. It was huge. And all lump crab meat, not half bread like other places. Be warned, the garlic crabs are messy, make sure you bring a roll of paper towels with you!

I enthusiastically recommend this place, witthout hesitation. I've never ever reviewed a restaurant before, but felt compelled to review this gem!

Finally...Crabs in Charlotte – I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay and ate crabs all through the summer. I've been in Charlotte over twenty years and have never seen a place like the Hole in the Wall Crab Shack. I ordered the crabs, the shrimp and a crabcake yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at the quality. I'll be a regular going forward and highly recommend this place to anyone who longs for good fresh seafood.

Maryland Style Blue Crabs – I never write reviews for restaurants and I eat out plenty. This is my second write up for this one. You can see the first one on Urbanspoon.

I found this place by reading someone elses review. It was clear across town from where I live but the temptation of Blue Crabs sent me on the way. I went on a Tuesday afternoon and met Garmin and his partner, Roger I think. I'm ready to place my crab order and doggoneit they didn't have any. Another guy in the restaurant told me they go fast. Garmin told me he'd have them the next day and I promised to go back. I am glad I did.

These guys sell Maryland style crabs by the dozen. Price varies by size and sex. I got a dozen large males for $30.00. If any of you have shopped online with the Maryland crabhouses you know that's about half the price a doz. large males go for. And that's before shipping charges.

The crabs were meaty, not watery and well spiced.

Based on the other review that I read I also ordered a crabcake. True to the reviewers word, it was SOLID jumbo lump.

I'll be a regular and can't wait to try their Flounder, Garlic Crabs and Shrimp. They also serve Catfish and and Tilapia.

The guys say they expect to have crabs year round which was music to my ears. Honestly, I've been searching for a place like this since the late 1980's.

One note, they just opened a week ago and won't be able to take debit/credit cards until sometime next week.

One more ps. they are open 11-9 TUE-SAT, Low Country Breakfast on SAT 7-10, but they may not have crabs on TUE. Call first.
