Very disappointed. I enjoy the Crave at West End and the MOA, and I was excited to check out the rooftop after a Twins game 2 weeks ago. We got up to the rooftop and I ordered my drink, and we sat down. Soon we were joined at the table next to us by a bunch of 18 year olds that were wasted and bragging about being able to be on the rooftop.
Now I don't know if there was just not someone there to card them or if someone just didn't care but it was terrible. The one girl was bragging that someone asked her for her i.d. and she said she didn't have it but was 'close enough in age." The other 5 kids were straight up drinking alcohol that they brought in at the table. No security was around to monitor them as they were drunkenly falling into my table, pretty much spilling my $12 drink. We asked them several times to calm down and stop, and they just continued to drink and smoke.
We were finally so sick of it, and the rooftop had no other open tables for my party's size so we left. On the way out we saw a manager, and I went up to her and told her about how she had drunken 18 year olds falling around on the roof. At that point she just shrugged and said, "They weren't getting served here." I said, "Well, yeah, because they are drinking their own alcohol on the roof," and she just walked out. I really thought something might be done about these kids. CRAVE is liable for what happens to them, aren't they? They possibly could be served up there as well since nobody cared to i.d. them.
CRAVE lost an opportunity with my party. We were ready to spend a lot of money there that night and were really looking forward to it, but between the nuisances that were on the rooftop and the rude behavior of the employee, we won't be back.
On the plus side, we walked down to Tom Pham's and had two great bartenders there, and really great food all on a happy hour pricing because it was after the game. I had never been there before, and I will definitely be back.
Chewy – I met some friends at Crave at the West End this week. I was happy to see that on a Wednesday the whole area was filled with people.
I made a reservation and we were seated in a very nice booth right away. I was a little surprised to see the prices on the menu. The Grilled Rib Eye was $29.95, the Crab Crusted Filet Mignon was $36.95, the Nori Crusted New York Strip was $34.95. This doesn’t match you price range of $16-$25
I decided to order the Roasted Chicken & Penne - Roasted red pepper, kalamata, local goat cheese, pine nuts, fresh basil, Romesco sauce for $17.95
It was presented very nicely but instead of roasted red pepper there was about a cup of sun dried tomatoes (too much) and the olives were bitter. The chicken was just dark meat, I pulled three large pieces of gristle out of my mouth and got one stuck in my tooth.
I would give the ambiance an A, but the prices and quality of food a C-.
The BEST Happy Hour around! – I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Crave for Happy Hour. This place rocks! The service is excellent. The food and drinks are always perfect and the great HH prices are an added bonus. The HH menu has $3, $4 & $5 options on beer/wine/cocktails and $3 & $5 options on appetizers. Crave at West End has become a weekly tradition for me. I can't rave enough about this place. I have never had a bad experience here. Definitely try it!
Such a nice place – It may be a little pricey but every once in awhile it is nice to go to Crave with my hubby for date night. Love the food so much and the attire is great too.
The BEST sushi in the Twin Cities – I have been hearing so much about Crave in St Louis Park that I had to try it for myself. It was definitely worth checking out and I highly recommend it.
I went their with my girlfriend, we had a reservation so we didnt have to wait. I recommend making a reservation. It is a pretty popular place.
I got some of their sushi (the number nine and the crunchy roll). Both the rolls were really good! My girlfriend got their steak nicoise salad. For a salad it looked really good to me, and she loved it!
I drank some of their beer, though my girlfriend got an amazing pomegranite martini.
If you have not checked out Crave yet, I highly recommend it!
