Not Good Via Delivery – If I could give negative stars, I would.
I had a terrible experience ordering food from Sante La Brea. Now, I've never been to the restaurant - so the experience may be completely different when you're actually there in person. But, ordering food for delivery was a nightmare. Out of 12 lunches ordered only one person had their order correct, felt the food was as described, and liked it. The other 11 either had issues like 'There's no steak in my sizzling steak fajitas' or things like 'this ahi tuna is overcooked (and it was, cooked solidly through so there was no pink at all, not seared as expected), and smells like cat food'.
They also took an hour and a half to deliver. This wouldn't be so bad if they had simply said so- but they estimated the time as 45-60 minutes. Look, at least give me some options- just tell me that it's going to take 90 minutes so I can plan accordingly, or choose to order from somewhere else.
The verdict on set: NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN!!!
I really wanted it to be good, as we have vegetarian, vegan and gluten allergic folks here, and I love to offer them good, healthy options when we order food in. But, Sante La Brea utterly failed to deliver- at least via delivery.
Easy Peasy Healthy Food – THEY'RE BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! Man, it's been a long tumultuous road with this place. We started off on a high note, it was love at first sight. We had a torrid weekly love affair.
Then things got predictable, but I hung in there. Then one day, like with most relationships, it just went sour. And I didn't come around anymore. I needed some space.
Then after a prolonged break, I popped in to see how things were doing. They had made some changes, things looked promising. And now? Well it's better than ever! And their Baja Tostada Salad is like falling in love all over again.
Sante, it's so good to have you back!
Great Food for our Party – We have enjoyed eating the delicious and healthful cuisine of Sante for over a decade, but had never tried their catering services until yesterday, when we had a small party in our home.
The food was provided on beautiful covered trays ready for serving, along with separately packaged containers of sauces, each labeled to indicate the dish for which it was intended.
It was lucky that we brought our station wagon for the pickup of the food, because there was much more of it than we had expected for the very reasonable price. Everything was hot and ready exactly on time; two Sante employees loaded the trays into the back of our wagon, and we drove it back just in time to lay it on the buffet for our arriving guests, who complimented us on both the food and its presentation.
The food was exactly the same as we had experienced in the restaurant itself over the years. We had two completely vegan dishes for our strict vegetarian guests (the Dragontail and the Southwestern Salad), plus a beet and goat cheese salad and the curried chicken risotto for those wanting to partake in some animal protein. For dessert, we had two dozen of their chocolate chip cookies, perfect as usual.
We were very pleased with our experience and will certainly think of Sante first for any events we might have in the future.
2 hours to deliver food – The food is good, however i was not happy that my food took two hours to be delivered. Not a good thing. Especially that it was supposed to be delivered in the vincinity
Undiscovered Masterpiece – The same menu as the extremely popular A Votre Sante on the westside, and now, thanks to an extensive recent renovation, even better decor. I've been a fan of Sante La Brea's shockingly tasty and innovative health food for two years and am even more enthusiastic about it now that they've put the finishing touches on their total interior/exterior makeover. This really is a secret worth sharing. Go. You won't be disappointed. Standouts: salmon wrap, chicken curry wrap, falafel wrap, dragontail stirfry, vegan cookies and desserts.
Wow – Not only does Sante offer healthy wholesome meals, but they do an excellent job making healthy taste good! The servings are quite large and the prices totally affordable. The food is made fresh to order but still comes out pretty quickly. If you like healthy, good quality food, then this is definitely the place to go.
Health-food spot in a trendy corridor feeds the fashionable locals. – In Short
Intimate ambience with flattering lighting nurtures seniors, families and couples who wander in from around the neighborhood. The restaurant features a heavily vegetarian mix of Asian, Mexican and Middle Eastern food like a veggie tamale appetizer laden with chili and soy cheese, accompanied by a cup of vegan cream of asparagus soup and its corn muffin lagniappe. There's also a hummus plate and wrapped sanwiches. For drinks, lemonade laced with rosewater is a favorite.
Delicious! Great Prices. A Favorite. – This is one of my favorite restaurants in LA. It's especially great for breakfast or lunch. They have one of the most extensive menus I've ever seen, with loads of vegetarian and vegan options, as well as options for meat-eaters. There are several types of food available, including Mexican, Asian, Middle Eatsern, and Italian dishes. Their chili is simply delicious. I am a big fan of the T&T and South of the Border entrees. You can view their whole menu online, which is a plus for deliveries. They have a large beer and wine list. Their prices are modest and the service is superb. A+
This place is horrible. The spices are just off, and the food tastes bad. Furthermore, it's super expensive. They don't deliver south of Olympic, or after 9:00.
We got a salad, a chicken wrap, and their blue corn nachos. We were very hungry, but could'nt finish because the food was so terrible. It was $30, which is exhorbitant for such shoddy food.
Avoid at all costs. If you want something vegetarian or healthy, just go to the supermarket and make it yourself. You'll be glad you did.
Great Restaurant! – This is one of the few restaurants where you can get great tasting food that is actually healthy for you. And it's surprisingly affordable.
Also, vegans and vegetarians will be pleased with this restaurant. The staff is super knowledgeable, and they are willing to accomodate your dietary needs.
Even better, ALL of the desserts are suitable for vegans and vegetarians!
