Best mexican in Albuquerque! – They need to open more of these restaurants - this place has awesome food! We love eating here about once a month and are never disappointed. The decor could use some updating, but the food makes up for it. Try our favorite - the El Roberto Special - to DIE FOR! Everything is great here, salsa, enchiladas, margaritas. The place is very popular and we know why - all the locals love it.
Food Tainting for My Entire Family – Sadies used to be my family's favorite place to eat. Good food, great prices... But 6 of us got such bad food TAINTING on May 6th of this year that we were all down and out for 4 days with the affects lasting at least a week after that. We tried to contact Sadie's management to get a refund for the money we spent on tainted food and we were given the run around by them. Be careful if you eat here.
the food is no good – i just want to say it is no good i got tow dinner plates and payed 50.00 dollars and it not get vary much food for with i got so i am telling you do not got there i gaveit a zero i woood not spend any money you make at sadie's and the pople that wotrk there are no good at all
Simply the best in ABQ! – Among the very competitive Mexican restaurant scene, this place wins hands down in my book. It is true that a couple of places may have better atmosphere but the food is so much better than the atmosphere restaurants that there is no contest. It is hot and be warned but you can always ask for your green on the side if you're a wimp!
Excellent service and food and varied menu. – I liked every aspect of our visit. I had a combination and it was excellent and generous. The papitas and green chile were super! My wife had a steak and it was very good. The only negative was the house dressing on the salad as it had a bitter taste.
terrible – Went here based on the other reviews on this site. Waitstaff strongly suggested the burgers for lunch tauting them as "what the restaurant is known for." I was served the most greasy burger and fries I have even seen in my life. It was horrible...and they left off the guacamole I ordered...and I had food but no forks. I did taste everything and it wasn't worth the time it took me to order and wait for food. The taste of old grease is very hard to get rid of. I will not go back.
Popular with all of Albuquerque, this is energetic, good Mexican food. – In Short
On any night you'll find Jaguars parked next to pick-ups, maybe even a limousine. If finding a seat requires a wait, pass the time in the roomy cantina. Here, margaritas are considered among the best in town. The chile is hot, and red-chile marinated carne adovada is a house specialty. Another popular dish is the carne adovada enchilada dinner with large chunks of marinated pork wrapped up in a corn tortilla.
Best New Mexican Food – I grew up in the Southwest and have eaten at many Mexican and New Mexican restaurants. I haven't found any as good as Sadie's. Albuquerque has many good to great restaurants, but Sadie's is definitely my favorite. The carne adovada is great in all of it's forms--plain, enchilada or stuffed sopapilla. I've had many of the other dishes, as well, and they've all been very flavorful. The portions are huge. I have always had good, attentive service there, even when the place is packed, which is usually. It is noisy, so don't go there for a quiet romantic getaway.
Best New Mexican Food in Albuquerque – There is a difference between New Mexican and Mexican food, this is the place to learn the difference. The menu selections are the similar but the flavorings are different. My big gripe is that it is a long drive from the Northeast Heights but maybe that adds to the adventure. It is noisy and crowded because everything else about it is so good.
Put Some Fire in Your Belly! – A random find while on business, this homestyle New Mexican food is worth fighting the crowds for. If you can't stand heat in your meal, stay away from this kitchen. The salsa and the carne adovada left me sweating like a politician on election day. They weren't just hot, they were perfectly flavorful and are tempered by extinguishing them with a cold one from their respectable beer list. Portions are also large. The dining room is crowded and the servers are bustling. While they are very friendly, they are so busy that they can be inattentive at times which is the only negative (a minor one). Bottom line: You'll leave Sadie's Hot but not Hungry!
