I started practicing yoga and transcendental meditation in the early seventies. At the same time I attended a Christian church and there met my would be wife. In those days, the practice of yoga was considered the work of Satan by the Christians. As a result I became a closet yogi for fear of judgment and being ostracized from the church. The church finally won out and I quit my yoga practice and meditation in nineteen-seventy-nine.
Many years and injuries later I rediscovered yoga through my girlfriend's daughter who had been practicing hot yoga and I immediately fell in love with it all over again.
Yoga, has changed alot from the seventies, in that what was once a Hindu way of returning to God has now been infiltrated largely by Christian sects that have omitted much of yogas true meaning.... What most Christians seem not to know is that Jesus Christ even traveled to India, and studied under the guidance of the Masters, in both Hindu and Buddhist Temples, and was instructed in the Vedas and Upanishads. The real teachings of Christ have been perverted by the " Church, both Catholic and Protestant ". Hinduism embraces all Paths to the Absolute, both Personal and Impersonal. Its sad to see things like Paramahansa Yoganda's picture being taken down in places where it was once honored and depictions of the third eye as such - in many studios, or never considered in the first place by the goading s of the Christian sects. It also grieves me to see people get their enthusiasm dampened or even get ostracized because of things like dress code as such - as if they were attending a catholic school. What will come next, hight, weight, age restrictions....?
One of the places I see and have felt these stereotypes is fusion hot yoga. And yet at the same time students are instructed to focus on their own practice? What is ment by this? Seems that the Christians have won out again in keeping me out of the fusion hot yoga studio.
live and let live....
Instructors are contradictory – I went to my first session last week and the instructor was very specific of how to do one of the poses. The next day I had a different instructor who pointed me out to the class for doing it wrong (the way that the first instructor told me to do it) and said to do it her way. When I attended the first instructor's class again, it was the same thing, if I did it the other way, he would have me do it his way. Very confusing.
It feels like they have their own interpretations of how to do things instead of following correct form.
Not impressed – I enjoy power vinyasa, but they keep the studio just as hot for this series of yoga as the hatha yoga and it is so unnaturally hot that I almost passed out! This fast paced yoga just isn't comfortable that hot!
Brittany is the best – Brittany taught me so much and she is the best instructor I have ever had! Hi Bree love u!
Best Yoga Studio For All Levels – Fusion Hot Yoga has become my favorite hot yoga studio. Before I entered the studio, I was intimiated to try a new yoga studio. I am a novice when it comes to hot yoga and other studios have been too hot, crowded and uninviting.
I felt the complete opposite at Fusion! They were welcoming at the front desk, their lobby is open and soothing. The locker rooms are outstanding, they are large and have multiple showers!
The studio is by far the best place for yoga. You can tell the difference in the air quality, and I asked them about this, they pump in fresh air into their studio. The floors are not overly hot and I had plently of room.
The instructors were very knowledgeable and were able to demonstrate several poses that helped me learn the correct poses. I purchased a three month unlimited package and have enjoyed my experience thoroughly!
I would highly recommend this studio to peole of all levels.
Best in Yoga: Fusion Hot Yoga – Fusion Hot Yoga is by far my favorite hot yoga studio. When you first walk in the studio oozes zen as well as this powerful energy. You are greeted with welcoming smiling faces.
There is plenty of space for the shoes outside the class. The woman's locker room is clean with two showers and benches. A nice place to relax after class.
The studio itself is amazing!! It is hot, but you don't feel claustrophobic because the ceilings are high, there is plenty of room to move, and there is a well-designed ventilation system. LOVE IT!
The instructors are all well-trained, but my favorite is Brittany. She leads the class with this positive and pleasant demeanor, yet she will absolutely challenge you during the class. Great options for all levels.
Definitely worth checking out if your a seasoned yogi or looking to begin your yoga practice. At Fusion Hot Yoga you will be in excellent hands.
Another great hot yoga location. – This new studio recently opened in Bothell offers both hatha hot yoga and power hot yoga, so not just your traditional bikram style. In the future they intend to offer something called fusion which I believe involves yoga and weights, sounds great to me. They have an introductory offer of 10 days for 10$ so it is definetely worth checking out. Plenty of parking. Great yoga teachers. Non carpeted floors. Big changing room. You can't ask for much more in a hot yoga studio. The water fountain even has a nozzle so you dont have to fill up your water bottle by holding the button down.
