Tanner Transmissions has great service. Everything was taken care of and they got me back on the road safely.
Tanner Transmissions was good to me and got my car in working order in a day or so. I was glad that it could be repaired without a complete rebuild. It does not have any problems anymore.
My car has been running perfectly since they rebuilt my transmission.
My truck's transmission started to have issues one day while I was towing my trailer. After removing the trailer I took it here to have it checked out. Of course, it worked fine without the trailer, and the manager suggested a solution that might fix the problem. After getting home I put the trailer back on and he was right. Since then I've had no problems and I am now taking my truck to Tanner Transmissions periodically for check ups.
The staff at Tanner Transmissions were very friendly and courteous. They provided professional service at a fair price.
My tip is to give Tanner Transmission a shot! They have been great to me and my car. Very professional and kind, and all of the mechanics who work here really seem to know what they are doing. I haven't had a problem with my car since having it worked on by Tanner's!
If you are having transmission problems I do recommend bringing you car or truck into Tanner's. They didn't try to sell me an expensive repair when I was hearing my transmission slip, they simply recommended having the fluids changed. It was an inexpensive, but effective repair that stopped the problem.
They were great and worked with me to rebuild my transmission for the heavy towing I do. They were great to deal with and have remembered me over the years when I come in for my annual warranty check and power flush.
My transmission was making some noise, and the guys at Tanner Transmission determined I needed a new clutch. They replaced it quickly and at a good price. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs their transmission serviced.
That Jim guy isn't old and crusty for nothing. I read a lot of reviews here and they seem to boil down to Jim, Good and bad. It's one of the reason I ending up using Tanner Transmissions. So this is my story and I'm stick' in to it. I take my 06 Dodge truck 4X4 in to see Tanner on State Street and this old guy named Jim asks if he can help me. I give the low down on the truck and what seems to be happening. So he asks where the truck is, I tell him it's parked right out front, so old Jim says let's go for a ride. He gets in on the driver's side pulls out, hooks a right and then does some brake depression and driving forward same thing in reverse. Gets the truck up to about 45 and sure enough when it starts shifting gears it starts slipping again as it changes gears. So we go back to the shop he pop's the hood and checks the transmission fluid and pulls my truck into a bay, one of his guys goes underneath the truck and takes a look Jim goes back to talk to him and then comes out and tells me he believes it could be 3 things however it will cost a minimum of $600.00 just to find out because the transmissions must be removed to find out what must be done to it, and they must look inside of it to find out what's the matter. Then they will tell me what it will cost to fix, as they will know at that time what's broken inside. I say; forget about it. What about a Power Flush could that fix it? Jim says the fluid is fine and that won't fix it. So I go to a new transmission shop. I tell them about my truck and what's going wrong, they don't test-drive it, look under the hood but they do tell me that a fluid change will fix the problem. Ahh ha I say to myself; I knew a transmission flush would work. So I get the flush and I take the truck out and it's still doing the same old transmission slip. I take it back in and theses guys and they tell me that I need a new transmission but they will give me $199.oo off because of the fluid change. So what it really was: Was a come on. So I'm back today the day after Christmas to pick up my truck from Tanner. It was the second thing Jim said it was my bill was $800. To fix what was needed and the other $600.00 to remove and replace the transmission for a total of $1400.00 the other guys wanted $4200.00 less of course the transmission flush so they would have only charged me $4000.00. Like I said; there is a reason Jim is old he knows his stuff. May I suggest you save some time and let Jim tell what's wrong with your transmission. John in Salt Lake City.
