AppleOne - Downtown Seattle – AppleOne (Downtown Seattle) is the first staffing agency I contact for temporary work. The staff has always been honest, courteous, and professional. I have worked directly with Karen Ford, who is a wonderful advocate and strives to make sure that candidates are placed in a position that is the best possible fit for her clients. She takes the time to get to know her candidates and is able to match personality and job skills with the right employer. She always returns my call or email to let me know what’s happening with staffing trends. I highly recommend AppleOne-Seattle to employers and candidates alike.
Don't Choose this Agency – This agency is absolutely horrible.
They placed me with one job and while I was at that assignment, the manager Karen Ford was so "nice and sweet". When my assignment ended (mind you I was an excellent employee), she completely changed her demeanor. She is VERY two faced-wouldn't smile or acknowledge me when I walked into agency to pick up my pay check.
You have to understand that while I was at my assignment she would email me and call me, just to "check" on me and see how things were going. She would even make an effort to speak w/ me whenever I walked into the agency. But all that ended as soon as my assignment was over.
Clearly, I wasn't really in her best interest...hmmm could it be that my placement = money for her???
Not only that, but I called and emailed Appleone about other available assignments and they would not return my calls or emails. Sure they can't call all temps with updates, but they need to respond to those who contact them.
This company is not professional. Karen Ford, is the freaking manager of this agency. There's a problem when the temps are more professional than the agency.
Don't go here!
A step above the rest – I have registered with many agencies in Seattle as well as other metro areas I have lived in. I can say hands down AppleOne is the exception to the rule. I was treated with respect from the moment I walked in the door and really felt like I was being listened to. My contact has always been honest with me about what I am looking for and how she can help. I ended up finding a position recently through a friend, but I would work with them again in a heart beat. They are true professionals.
Apple Core – After completing an assignment for Apple One at the headquarters of a nationwide retailer (never missed a day, always did my job, always had a great attitude and let both Apple One and their client know that I was thankful to be working with them, never got any complaints, etc), I called on them for assistance with finding a new assignment. Thinking that they would show their appreciation for my representing their agency in a professional manner, I thought that I would at least be shown a bit of respect. I had hoped that they would have another position but I know that they can only assign jobs when they have one that fits the pay, location, experience, etc. But if nothing else, I had at least hoped for a return call or email just to say "we got your message and will be in touch if anything comes up." They couldn't even seem to find the time to do that. With all the tests and other hoops you have to jump thru for them (can take up to 2 hours), the least they could do is take 30 seconds to reply to temps that have done a good job for them in the past. I believe the term is "common courtesy."
