As we thought, we were royally screwed over by the repair company North Dallas Appliance Repair, run by a guy named Scott. What you are looking at, is a clearly worn down Top Bearing Drum Support and two sets of 4 completely disintegrated Slides. Easily seen, as soon as you open the top of the dryer. And surprise, surprise , the parts only cost $5 a piece.
We hired them to "fix" the deafening screech it was making. After charging us for the most expensive part and a trip fee, $180, it was still making the same noise after. I called Scott to tell him about how I was uncomfortable with how his tech acted on the first visit. He assured me that he would make it right and take care of us, no other charge. That he appreciated the feedback. The same guy comes out again and says he "adjusts" the part he originally fixed. It of course still made the noise after he left. Since the owner assured me, that they would make it right, I immediately called him. Instead of him actually making good on their 90 day guarantee and the promise, he became enraged and told me to buy a new dryer. when I tried to explain what the tech Bobby told me, he wouldn't let me get a word in. He kept talking over me and telling me about how he wasn't going to allow me to speak, because he already listened to me chew he and his friend of 20 years a** out. I tried to get a refund, but he only wanted to do a partial. The owner, Scott, continued to yell at me and told me that our dryer was broken and to buy a new one. Clearly these guys are crooks! Trying to pull one over on a woman. Oh yeah, Bobby will try to insist that you pay with a check, don't do it. Insist that you pay with a credit card, so that you can dispute, when these crooks run their scam on you. Thank goodness I didn't give in to his demands for a check. We consulted with professionals and got this fixed for $30! The lack of noise, is music to my ears. Any "experienced" repair person or rational person opening the dryer up, can clearly see that this is what was wrong.
