First visit to the USA, and had to do some shooting? – I began my Shooting hobby in the UK in 1979,My first pistol was a 22lr Walther GSP target pistol, I quickly gained an interest in competitive shooting and became a member of a team shooting in postal competiions.
We shot against other Clubs including Police force teams which we regularly beat? we had one high ranking shooter who was picked for the England Olympic team a lifetime achievement only to be scuppered by the olympic ban due to Russia Invading afghanistan?
I owned and shot many pistols and revolvers during my Shooting years. but due to my Government banning weapons in 1987 ( semi automatic rifles) and 1997( all Pistol and revolvers) my Sport was cut short. I went to the Gun Club twice a week every week, and shot centre fire revolver and Pistol and carbine pistol calibre rifles at our outdoor range. and Centre fire Rifles at approved military ranges
Back to the present day or 16 days ago? my visit to this gun club in LA bought so many memories back it was like being transported back in time as though nothing had happened, this may sound stupid but it did for me?
I only wish I had shot more, hopefully I will visit your fine country again, and do more shooting
The Staff were great and made you feel at home and very welcome, very knowledgeable regarding the weapons and above all the safety aspects.
My last words are to thank you all for my visit and giving me the opportunity what my Government took away from me through no fault of my own? and participated in the Sport of Shooting.
A big Thank you from Mick.
Great place to go on a dull weekend. – Ive been a returning customer to this place now for a while now. This is where i learned how to operate and shoot a handgun, rifle, and shotgun, even got my handgun safety certificate which i would recommend everyone to get. I know someone that works here and so my experiences are always good. Though im not too happy about going there sometimes and seeing first time shooters operating a malfunctioning gun. There was an incident where a couple of girls next to us couldnt operate there handgun. One of the girls was starring at us pondering if she should asks us how to fix her malfunctioning handgun. She walks up to my friend with the gun pointed at his stomach, knowing that you should always assume a gun is always loaded, we had to stand back and tell her to back away from us, we didnt know if the gun was loaded or not, she assured it wasent, but who knows right. after telling her to speak with a range officer, she grabs her gun and walks outside the range with the gun to the front desk. YOUR NOT SUPPOSE TO DO THAT. very scary situation, i was a first time shooter at one point of my life but its just common sense people. In other words this place is fun and safe, but be very vigilant of the people arround you and make sure no one is screwing around/handling a gun in an unsafe matter, it could result in injury or death.
Great place to shoot on a budget. – Have to disagree with the non-gun buffs on the worries over prices. You will not find ammunition at a lower price anywhere in town, any other town, or even online. 50 rounds of .45 ACP @ around $15.00? 9mm @ $9.00? Good luck.
The staff is friendly and strict (in a good way). Great target selection, though I wish they had some steel to knock around. The booths are fairly wonky. They don't offer very much protection from the guy shooting next to you. Prepare for some spent shells to collide with your cranium and a stray spark or two will give you a bit of tease. Last time I went they put me at a booth that didn't have a second shelf. Frustrating to say the least. Also, it is hotter than a jungle in the desert in the shooting area. Almost unbearable.
I like all this, though, because it simulates (albeit very mildly) some of the confusion and uncomfortability of a real combat situation. You can't pause to wipe the sweat from your eyes in a life or death situation. If you go into it with this mindset, you will have a great time.
Nice place – I’ve been in this place several times. If you have little or large experience in shooting and weapon, and understand California gun law, and like indoor shooting, this place great for you. First time shooter would fill themselves not so comfortable. I’ve been in Las Vegas, Nevada shooting place, that looks and fill much more proficient. Every shooter has its own trainer (though, should I say it is more expensive then in LA, CA). Other then that no complains so far. Great choice of weapon, ammo, targets, cool staff, mostly working target booths (the #1 has a little glitch with target mechanism ;)).
fun for all levels – LA gun club is fun- everyone should go and learn how to use a gun for protection. They offer a wide variety from 9mm, 45's, 39 supers, rifles, etc... They have lots of targets to choose from too. The staff is layed back, its a no hassle kind of experience. Be sure to ask for help and they will be happy to show you how to use the gun. I would recommend bringing someone with a little experience if it's your first time.
WoW:)!!! – This place was a Blast!! I found the place under their website which was well informative. It does says that you have to come in a party of two or more, I asked them why? when I got there. They told me because they are trying to prevent suicides which perfectly makes sense. The staff was really great, they were really helpful. They have a variety of pistols and rifles, they also have a Smith & Wesson 500 which was COOL!! Overall, prices were reasonable and it is a great place to relieve some stress. AWESOME!! :)
Keep it poppin' well into the night at this 50-foot shooting range loaded with firing options. – In Short
Open seven days a week, this hulking beige brick building houses a 50-foot indoor range where pistol packers and would-be-shooters go for some serious gunplay. After a brief orientation and inspection, folks can choose from a wide selection of firearm rentals before heading into one of the 15 individual booths. Spectators can watch from the viewing areas and bilingual speakers (Japanese and Spanish) are available.
Had a great time – The website does indeed specify "two or more people."
I had a great time there when I went with some friends.
I prefer a no-nonsense staff in that environment -- wouldn't you?
