Maintenance Staff Refuses Access to Laundry Facility! – The door to the laundry facility was locked. So I decided to wait by the rental office someone from maintenance crew to arrive. Upon arrival, I ask if he could give me access to the laundry facility. I offered him my photo ID with the my apartment address on it. They said, No you will have to wait until someone in the rental staff comes in .
You have to put the absurdity of the situation in context, the maintenance guy was standing 10 feet away from the Laundry room door when I asked him to unlock it for me!
I have been living here for over 5 years, and plan to move somewhere else in 2 months due to the shenanigans like this. Please find somewhere else to live!!
The worse place ever!!! – I will give this place zero stars. There is no one good thing about it. I am moving out in a month, I wouldn't recommend this place to my worse enemy.
Buildings are old with a new facade, they have hidden fees that will show on your rent, they are just greedy. I had the worse year of renting, I can't wait to get the hell out of here.

Beechstone horrifying reaction to victims of Beecstone fires – tinue to give to bad businesses they will never get better

PORTSMOUTH — When Beechstone Apartments resident Shawn Bedard woke up early Wednesday morning to find flames spewing from a neighboring apartment complex, the 27-year-old said he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
And when the 27-year-old learned from management that it would take more money and another security deposit to move into another unit in the complex, he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"I got onto the porch and heard crackling and looked to my left and saw flames billowing underneath the third floor," said Bedard, who was using a crutch Wednesday morning. "I hobbled my way back up the stairs, grabbed my pants, shoes and phone and made my way out."
Bedard said he knocked on doors on his way out of the building, and then immediately called 911 when he learned no one had notified authorities. When he learned more people were inside, Bedard said he made his way back inside the building and alerted three more residents.
As one of the nearly 50 residents who were evacuated during the early morning hours, Bedard said he could only watch as firefighters cut holes into his ceiling and began to run fire hoses up through his bedroom to battle the fire from above.
Bedard said most all of his belongings were likely destroyed.
Not long after the five-alarm fire was brought under control, Bedard said he and his roommate, Joe Luth, approached property management about possibly moving into a vacant apartment.
Luth, who was not at home when the fire broke out, said he was informed by management that he would have to pay more rent per a month, would have to requalify for occupancy and pay an additional security deposit.
Having moved into the complex in November 2009, Luth and his rooommate were able to secure a discounted monthly rate of $1,000 a month. Luth said Wednesday that management informed him that, if they were to occupy another unit of the same size, the monthly rent would be $1,300.
"They want to up our rent to regular price, and this isn't our fault," Luth said. "They said it's not their fault, but the least they could do is try and be helpful." Saying he shouldn't have to suffer because of something out of his control, Luth added the last thing he imagined dealing with after his home caught fire was issues with property management.
"I won't be able to afford what they want us to pay," he said. "Somebody should not be profiting from this."
A person who answered the phone at the Beechstone management office on Wednesday would identify herself only as the district manager.
When asked to comment on allegations made by tenants, the person declined. Beechstone Apartments is the lone New Hampshire property owned by TGM Associates, which owns apartments across the country.
Forget about Beechstone – I have lived here less than a month and already am counting the months left in my lease. When first looking at the complex, staff was extremely friendly and. I should have expected a catch. There is a construction crew stationed in various apartments on the property, all look a little on the shady side, drinking all the time, even in the vehicles. Airplanes fly overhead at a very low altitude over and over again. There is no place for kids to play since they removed the baseball field and basketball courts in favor of a new building. There are updated appliances throughout my unit, which is nice. The carpets were clean. The unit was freshly painted. However, since they used very cheap very flat wall paint. There were no window treatments. The office said they were "back-ordered. This wouldn't be such a big deal except the windows are such an odd size. So far maintenance has been responsive. My biggest issue is the water pressure, or lack thereof, in the unit. None of the sinks or showers do more than spritz out water. The buildings have security doors complete with buzzers. However, the door does not consistently actually shut all the way so typically entry can be gained without a key. All in all this has not been a good experience by any stretch and I recommend to anyone considering moving here to just drive on by and forget this complex exists.
Rapidly becoming lower income housing. – Many years ago, this complex was o.k. Now, after many changes in the maintenance staff and a new owner, it is much worse. Although the new owner has partially renovated all units, it really is a band-aid fix. The apartments are now a blend of brand new (kitchen appliances and cabinets, bathroom sinks) and way too old (carpets, paint, sliding doors, bathtub fixtures and floors...). Maintenance requests are sloooooowly addressed if at all. The office staff is not as organized or friendly as it once was. They are terrible at communicating what is going on in the complex. Be wary.
