another name but same bad service – We have tried to support our local restaurant near our home for the past 5 years no matter what the name of the restauarant was. The newest name and owners opened a great menu for Bistro RX, unfortunately the same service and lack of knowledge for the restaurant industry seems to be apparent. Last week my wife tried the restaurant with two female friends and the service was very responsive and knowledgable. The kitchen was quite slow, but that is a standard with many row house restaurants because of the kitchen size and one should expect very slow food service here. Don't expect to get to a show or movie, this should be a choice when you want lots of time and great wine and conversation with friends. The food that evening was great once it arrived, especially the fried twinkie dessert that was shared. My wife had noticed a great menu for kids and high-chairs, thus suspected they welcomed children. We tried it this evening with our two kids. The server was flustered right from the beginning and didn't know the specials (she said she hadn't written them down yet...they are the same every Tuesday....). Our childrens food came out quickly which was a great sign, however, 30 minutes after their food came out we didn't see her again until my wife asked to have our entrees wrapped up and I then told her to just take off the check and bring the bill. There were only 6 people at the bar and about 10 people total at the tables in the restaurant, thus it wasn't because they were slammed or busy that made for the poor service and slow kitchen. I just think it is unfortunately another example of the 4th try in this location by someone that means well but a good reason why 1 out of every 10 new restaurants in america fail every year, it isn't an easy busy and a person must invest time and customer service to make it successful. It is near our home and we could have been regulars, but now that we have such a bad taste in our mouths over the experience we'll go back to some of the others in the area that strive to make a better impression and are more consistent. Sorry, but we gave it another two trys and just too many other places to choose from that give better service...
