Poor work, did not perform services as quoted – Do yourself a favor and call someone else, anyone else except this company. The owner came out to our house and looked at the exterior of the house and the fence we wanted painted. The estimate he produced was using top of the line Sherwin Williams latex paint. The colors for trim and the main body of house were picked out by myself and my wife. I asked the owner if the paint he quoted as using was for stucco as some of the areas he would be painting were stucco, he said "NO" that the stucco paint was more expensive. I did insist that he use the stucco paint and he did charge me extra for the paint. His estimate also included priming the fence prior to painting but this was not done. Instead he spray painted the fence on the windiest day causing paint to get EVERYWHERE!! All of which I had to remove myself. The estimate stated the job would take one week for applying 2 coats of paint - he said he was finished in 3 days. The exterior doors were painted without asking myself or my wife our choice of color and when I asked him to repaint the doors to all match one color I was told I would have to pay him extra to do so. When I noticed the pintles were not removed and painted I asked him why and he stated because they were too rough. Again, another item I had to do myself that should have been done by this company. He also refused to paint an extension off my home of lattice until I had pressured him enough about it to do so. And lastly he did not paint all of the windows in the back of my home as stated in the estimate. I witnessed the owner pouring paint down the city drain and also around the edge of a brick fence in my backyard. If you want someone that will give you an estimate and commit to an agreement with you on the estimate then not perform all of the items you both agreed to have done - this is your guy! Plus you will experience the added benefit of being charged extra when you insist that he correct his mistake of mismatching colors or using a low quality product. This guy is a loser with a CAPITAL "L"!!!!!!
Bad job, only excuses for it. – Save your money and paint it yourself. The owner dropped a guy off in the morning, did no prep work whatsoever just started free-hand painting, and the result? Not one straight line on the entire job. The owner actually blamed me saying it was my fault because I didn't tell him they should have brought materials (tape) to do the job right. I asked him that word for word, and he said yes.
Any good painter will tell you it takes longer to do the prep work than the actual painting. Because, you want the finished work to look right. If you do not tape the edges of the area you're painting, it won't come out straight. And it didn't.
You will get more excuses than straight lines. First, he said it was the texture as to why he couldn't use tape. I took him into the kitchen to show him (the owner) the bar my wife and I painted last year. Same exact texture on the wall and the same baseboard material that his guy was painting. The difference was we used tape and our lines came out straight. I said to him "our job looks a lot better than the one your man did, tell me I'm wrong?" He could not. What he did next was turn to more excuses. He began looking around to point out anything he could find wrong with the paint job done by the home builder. As though his defense now was, if they did a bad job, I can too. His next excuse was he was trying to save me money. So now apparently there are two prices (after the job is done) that he can do it for. One price will do it right and professionally, and one takes short cuts, no prep work, and will come out crooked. I didn't pay a discounted rate to save myself money, I paid in full, what he quoted me to paint the nursery for our baby who's coming in eight weeks. At no time did he tell me until he was finished and the job looked terrible, that he was going to try and save me money by not taking the time and prep the room he's painting. I paid in full his quote for painting our nursery, he took the money, then took short cuts and he knew it.
Bottom line, you will get more excuses than professionalism from this company. At one point, my seven month pregnant wife was just asking questions about the painting, and he raised his voice to her saying, "Now you're telling me how to do my job?!". I followed him outside and told him he wasn't going to talk to her like that so he did come in and apologize to her. Problem is, one, the job we did on the bar was better than his "professional" did so he had no right to raise his voice to her to begin with, and two, instead of yelling at a pregnant customer, he should have been embarrassed by the bad job and cutting corners that his company did, admit it and own it. If you mess up, man up and own it and make it right. His ultimate response to me? IF I go and buy more paint and HIS materials (tape), he'll come back and do it again. Why should I have to spend more money and buy his materials when I've already paid, in full, for him to have done the job right to begin with? At this point I had no confidence in his ability or even desire to do a good job.
