I had some great furniture to donate. I called and explained in detail the number and size of the items to be picked up. I told the person on the telephone that the furniture was oversized, leather, and in excellent condition. I explained that it was in the house. They would have to carry the furniture out a side door and around to the front of the house. I called back to confirm after the person answering the phone spoke with her supervisor. She confirmed that they could pick up the furniture. They called back to reconfirm the day before pick-up. I explained in detail again that I was not physically able to carry the furniture outside and have it waiting for them. THEY REASSURED ME THAT THEY COULD COME IN THE HOUSE AND CARRY THE FURNITURE OUT. They were supposed to arrive in the morning. One guy in a truck showed up at 2:30 P.M. took 1 look at my chair and said " OH WOW!" I sat home all day for nothing!!!!!! I called their office and the woman answering the phone had the nerve to tell me that I didn't explain the situation to them! I couldn't believe it! If you want to donate to charity all you have to do is PAY someone to carry all of the furniture out of your house for them. I've done that before and they don't show up. Don't work with Habitat - call someone else!
I am a former employee and am aware of the situation below. she bout tile and called about returning it. she was told she had to speak to the manager about it since they hada no return or exchange policy. she came in on a saturday when he wasnt there and was told to come back when he was there. she never came back and did a chargeback on her credit card but didnt even bring the product back. she evven had about $100 of other merchandise on her reciept that didnt even have anything to do with the tile. i dont know about him "harrasing" her or leaving "threatening" messages but she essentially stole since she had product that was not paid for.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING THERE – I made a very large purchase there & several of the items enclosed in boxes were severaly damaged. I immediately called back to the store to do an exchange & was told I had to talk to Jess, the store manager. He is the rudest & most unprofessional man I have ever dealt with. He refused to let me complete a sentence, accused me of being a liar & a thief. Thank God I paid with my credit card because I have consumer protection so they gave me a full refund. Well 3 months later Jesse starts calling & harrassing me, leaving nasty messages on my voicemail. I contacted Habitat's Headquarters in Georgia & filed a complaint. I have had 4 high level officials contact me to apologize.
This thing makes you choose a rating so I gave it 1 star only so I could post this review & save everyone the agony of shopping there.
