Bob, the owner of The Piano Shoppe, tunes my piano every year. He is pleasant and friendly and I feel comfortable having him in my home. He also has a great ear and does a wonderful job tuning my old piano!
We were looking for a decent piano for my daughter on the internet and came accross the piano shoppe of cary. We found many pianos for sale on Craig's list but they were for sale without warranty or any guarantee whatsoever. Yes they were cheap but no service after the sale. We went to the Piano Shoppe of Cary on Saturday and met Bob Kimball the owner. He was very kind and informative. Never pressured us to buy. We picked out a professional upright piano in mint condition. Bob explained that the piano came with warranty and in-home tuning. We came back the next week and purchased the piano. It was delivered as promised. We even negotiated the price with Bob and was very happy with our purchase. There were some small issues that came up once the piano was in our home however, Bob addressed the issues on the piano, fixed all of them and we were very pleased with his professionalism. We would recommend the piano shoppe to anybody who wants to purchase a good used piano and save hundreds if not thousands on their purchase.
I have read the other comments listed above about the piano shoppe and Bob Kimball and I can tell that they are complete B.S. or they are not telling the complete story. You can be reassured that the Piano Shoppe and Bob Kimball will do you right. His business is a member of BBB and in my book that says volumes. Carry on Bob. We are proud of your store and your professionalism.
I went to all of the retail piano stores in the area, checked out some craigslist ads, and The Piano Shoppe was my last stop. The owner is Bob Kimball who has years of experience with pianos. He knows them inside and out. Bob has a small, diverse selection of pianos. And I fell in love with one of them. The piano was over a decade old, but you would swear it was brand new if you saw and played it. When it came time to purchase, Bob was great to work with. He went out of his way to make sure I was satisfied with some minor issues that came up, plus he was willing to negotiate with me to meet me at a price I could afford. And he was kind and patient from the first moment I walked in the door. The beauty of working with Bob is he is also a piano tuner, so you get free tunings with your purchase. Delivery was also included! He's the only salesman in the store, and he's local so he's not going anywhere. And I plan to take advantage of his tuning services for as long as he's available! If you're looking for a piano, a tuner, or just have general questions about pianos, go to downtown Cary and visit Bob at the Piano Shoppe!
Dishonest business. They were going to sell a piano on my behalf, and everything seemed fine. When I finally checked back in after hearing nothing for over a year, I found out that the piano had sold, but I didn't receive any payment or notification whatsoever. Now for over a year I've been fighting for the company to uphold its contract. Do not do business with this company.
I just called on a sunday morning for some advice. The owner, Bob Kimbal, was SOO helpful on the phone. He gave me lots of good advice and recommended other stores where I could purchase the parts that I needed. He also recommended a place I could take my electronic piano keyboard to be fixed. If I need a new one or I need a piano tuner I will definitely call him. Based on this very helpful conversation I highly recommend The Piano Shoppe of Cary.
Beware! They don't do honest business! – The owner Bob sold crappy piano as completely restored one, several keys even had missed strings, pedal was broken too! He'll tell you tuning is free for the first year. It's not easy to get him over to tune, and he did so very quickly and it's still didn't sound right at all. I asked him why so and he replied it sounded great, it's a good piano. I couldn't stand the off-sound of it and finally had someone honest to fix the problems for the second time, as there were so many problems he couldn't finish in one visit.
He wasn't surprised when he found out where I got the piano from. So beware, not to shop there! Don't spend a lot of money and much more just to fix what was supposed to be a great piano!
