a lot left to be desired – I originally took classes and had a personal trainer further out in St. Louis, but relocated and needed to join a new gym. I heard about "The Lab" through some coworkers and decided to give it a try because of the special they were running. The place is never packed, which is nice on one hand, but also makes me wonder if the lack of clientele has anything to do with the poor customer skills provided by the staff. Against my better judgement, I decided to give "The Lab" a try. It seemed as if I was passed to whomever was available at the time which left me feeling as if I was "just another paying customer" rather than an actual client wanting to see results. I firmly believe you need to change up your routine, but I didn't know that included a different trainer every time I went in to train. Most of the gym and equipment is tailored toward body building instead of aerobic machines. As a woman, I want to to step on an elliptical or treadmill every now and then. Good luck, because there are only about 6 machines total (elliptical and treadmills) and about double the platforms for heavy lifting. Their website "guarantees" results, but I felt taken advantage of and just like every other member of the gym even though I paid for personal training. I am no longer a member of "The Lab" gym and have moved on (and toned up) thanks to a personal trainer at a different gym. I I would definitely take your money elsewhere.
The Real Deal – Very highly recommended! The gym is housed in an old brewery or something, old wood floors with exposed brick and big open windows. Never thought I would ever see a gym in this kind of setting. The staff is very helpful. The trainers are the best! They really help you get going on a good path with the free sessions you get as a new member. Lots of great equipment, with some neat specialty items as well. I don't get into this stuff but they have olympic weightlifting and strongman equipment too. Don't let that scare you though, the majority of the people I see here are with trainers and close to their 50's. Their teaching process is amazing. I truly do love the guys over at The Lab, they really have helped me reach my fitness goals. Whether you are a competitive athlete or someone like me who is just trying to get in better health. Look this place up.
