Fast food indian food – I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice little fast food Indian place in Raleigh. I was happy that I didn't have to spend a lot to try a variety of dishes. I have been there thrice in a month and they never fail to impress me. I pretty much have tried everything on their menu through the great buffet options. I like to order from the ala carte menu for dinner although the buffet is available. No frills, affordable, good sanitation rating, fast service. My fav is their malai kofta and tandoori chicken. The spice is just right. Grab a quick bite and leave happy.....

To sum it up.... Totally not worth the effort - incompetent – Went in there for lunch to use a Livingsocial deal - $15 for $30. It was myself and two coworkers - one of who was having Indian food for the first time.

Recently having traveled to India, I was excited to show her some options. They have a regular menu, as well as a buffet. I am not one for buffets, but the man behind the counter kept pushing it on us, so we caved and each got the buffet (1 veg, 1 nonveg each).

On top of the buffet, i ordered 1 order of Meat Samosas and 1 order of Gulab Jamun. We went to pay at the counter and they were very confused about the Living Social (well it expired the day that I was using it, so I am sure they had to have seen them before!) Anyways, our order came to $38.03. All of a sudden, it was up to $44 and some change. Meaning, after the $30 off, it would have been $14 instead of $8. I asked the guy why the price went up and he said we charge 18% on livingsocial deals - that it was LivingSocial's rule. Being a marketing director myself and having done MANY groupon and living social deals on the business side, i knew this was a crock of sh*t.

We looked at their fine print, as well as LivingSocials - and low and behold, no mention anywhere of adding an 18%. Now having waited tables for many years, i usually tip 20% and a few bucks for counter service. This was already a ridiculous experience, so having to pay $6 for a tip when the guy was just taking our order seemed crazy.

Anyways, we proceeded to notice their sanitation grade was an 86.5 - from September - guess they hadnt fixed what was wrong yet.

The chicken was rubbery, the vegetable dumplings were horrible.... the naan was good.. the rice was good. great, plain bread and rice for lunch!

The samosas never came... it had been about 20 minutes, so i went up and asked. They said they decided to change the oil out of the fryer and were now waiting to heat up the oil to cook our appetizer. i said, we we are already done with our food, do just cancel that. I said, could we please have the Gulab Jamun now? Having had some amazing desserts while in India, i was thrilled to show my coworkers this little secret i had found.

It was disgusting. They BOTH spit it out onto their plates. They were cold, soggy - just plan gross. I didnt bother saying anything.

I then stood in line for 10 more minutes trying to get the $4 back for the samosas that never showed up. He proceeded to take two other customers before he helped me, then i had to wait for someone else to pay so he could open the register. While waiting, the other guy came and handed me my samosas. I said, im sorry but i cancelled this order 15 minutes ago. and he said, well they made it especially for you. and I said well it would have been great 35 minutes ago when i ordered it. He gave me back exactly $4 and took the samosas back to the kitchen.

we walked out after that... i was embarrassed that i even took my coworkers here for a fun Friday lunch like we usually have.

Very good, worth a try – The good: Tasty food, great staff

The not, so, good: Seemed a bit pricy

Do give it a try if you're looking for a quick, spicy Indian meal.
