average – I put a review down on the other Pasquini's link here, but figured I'd share that perspective here in case someone misses that one. I have to agree that the service and the food are each pretty questionable (The service more so than the food, but the food's inconsistent enough to wonder what just happened). I also agree with the comment on the "hipster" of it - sometimes it seems like the service might be so "cool" that it's not always there to seat you, to take your order, or to get your order right - maybe more just to be cool. I will say that, in the few times I've been, it was great once, truly bad other times, while gotten better. BTW - I guess it'll take me a few minutes to figure out how all the ranking stars are full (nearly), while the reviews I read here are not good.
OVER RATED, terrible service.... – Why do people like this place so much? Everytime I have eatten there, I've wanted to come back less. Now I don't think I'll go back. Delevery time is NEVER under and an "hour &15." The food is decent as they use good ingreedients but the sercice is TERRIBLE. The stupid hipsters they have working there with their F-U attitude make the experience. Goodbye
Horribly Over Rated – I have never had an enjoyable meal here. They have never (three different times) gotten my order correct. I order a very standard meal with one substitution. I am not sure what all the hype is over this place. Very disappointing and will never return. There are too many good Italian places in Denver to waste your money here. I would never recommend it to anyone.
Hip Italian – Pasquini's on Broadway is a hip place that even un-hip people can enjoy. I go for the chicken pesto pizza, which is delicious! My husband usually gets the spaghetti. Their salads are very fresh and they have a good wine selection by the glass or bottle (good bottles for under $10). The only drawback is that they can be very crowded at times, although they recently expanded, so maybe this is not so much of a problem anymore. I recommend this restaurant.
Friendly service, decent pizza, heinous dessert! – We went to the Broadway location last week after not having been for maybe a year (besides takeout). The new expansion is really very nice, with patio seating being excellent. We had a wonderful server who was generally attentive and very friendly. The first wine we ordered was out, as was the second. The third choice arrived and was good. We ordered an arugula salad which was very nice, but ease up on the pine nuts, guys. I don't need $6 of pine nuts on my salad. Next, we ordered two pizzettas. They took absolute ages to come, but Pasquini's isn't known for its speed, so no huge worries there (though if we hadn't had a salad and those yummy breadsticks I would have been grumpily hungry. My husband's pizzetta had an ingredient that he didn't order on it (tomatoes), but what the hell. He didn't send it back, just brushed off the tomatoes. I ordered garlic on my 'za and it was there, but not really cooked enough (roast it, folks - make it creamy, not bitey). The server offered a free dessert because of the mis-made pizzetta (very generous as it was hardly 'ruined') and while she recommended the fruit tart (which we would have been wise to agree to), we ordered the profiteroles. Now, I'm not a profiterole snob, but I've had some pretty transcendant ones...and I wasn't expecting that at Pasquinis, but they do BAKE there so I assumed they'd be decent. NOT SO. The 'cream' was out of a spray can and the pastry and chocolate were literally inedible. I don't know if they had been stored in a fridge with something else giving off odors or if the pastry was just old or what, but they were awful. If you can't make 'em right (or even passable), take them off the menu!!
Great atmosphere – Pasquini's is your classic neighborhood pizzaria with a modern flare. They have great specials and their food is amazing (all of it!) My friends and I meet there at least once a week for an inexpensive get together with great food.
This delightful Italian bistro works its quirky aesthetic right into the food. – In Short
Located at the southernmost edge of antique row on South Broadway, Pasquini's its neighborhood well. A curious two-story facade opens into a welcoming room of mismatched furniture and bright colors. The owners are from the East Coast, so the pizza boasts the freshest ingredients, high-quality meats and the perfectly thick crust. The only thing missing is the East River water to lend the truly authentic New York flavoring to the pizza.
One of our favorites! – I love to go to the broadway location and sit upstairs (better atmosphere). Its a great place to meet friends, especially on $2.50 Coors light pitcher nights (every monday and thursday). If you're hoigty-toigty, stay away. Service is acceptable, but the food is great! There is something for everyone, healthy and vegetarian options as well as gourmet pizza toppings and fresh pastas. We love the breadsticks, complimentary with dinner. A fun place to meet with friends after work or on the weekend.
What happened? – I had been a regular at Pasquinis for years going back to 97, I bought my bread at their bakery and loved to take friends to the restaurant. I always expected a long wait for a table but it was worth it now the wait is less but the food and service are no longer worth it. The bakery shut down and it seems as if all the reasons I loved this place are gone. Time to find a new spot huh?
User review by llamaofthesea – Everyone that we've taken to Pasquini's has loved it. Big portions - soft breadsticks dripping with butter - Dad said it was the best lasagne he'd ever had. The location on 17th is great - get a table outside on the back patio and enjoy a warm Colorado evening. The location on Broadway has "flavorful" decor (sit upstairs, not downstairs). The only downsides have been inconsistent service and the off-street parking.
