Lousy Pizza even worse service – This is the first and LAST time i will ever get pizza from this place. I tried it because it was tauted as "The Best Pizza In LA" , this has to be the worst Pizza on the planet. I come from the East Coast, where if you have ever been to Pepe's in New Haven Connecticut (the BEST on the PLANET) you know what i am talking about. At Bravo, the crust was so doughy and soft i thought it was part doughnut. The service was no better. This was a call in & pick up order and the guys behind the counter are so cool the have a conversation while they let let your pizza get cold and then you have the pleasure of paying them alot of money for something they should pay you to eat. Do yourself a favor and skip this joint. It's worth missing....
Great after-clubbing snack – I've been here a few times after hitting the clubs and bars on Main St. It's cheap, by-the-slice, and perfectly decent, not to mention they're open late. It works for me. I can see this place getting very crowded during the day.
Good Pizza, Really Bad Service – I don?t get this restaurant; the food is really good but is completely over shadowed by the poor service you always receive when you walk through the door. The cute stoner pizza boys loose their charm quickly as you continue to stand in the front waiting to be acknowledged so you can place or pick up your order. I want to like this place!!! It is walking distance from my house and the food is favorable, but time and time again I try and beat the system by 1) Calling a head of time? good luck, you will be trying for over an hour due to the busy signal, then wait 20 mins while they ignore you at the counter 2) Calling for delivery ? once you get passed the busy signal, they may or may not show up with your pizza, plus you will never get the right order (missing salad dressing, wrong pizza etc.) 3) Placing the order at the restaurant where you will sit and wait for over 50 mins to get the wrong #$%* pizza! I know this is LA, but getting a pizza should not be this hard. Until management wakes up and realizes they are in the ?service industry? I will not go back.
decent delivery – We had a pizza delivered from here, and it was ok. Nice amount of toppings, tasty but nothing special. Was pretty expensive for what it was, but they got it to us quick and piping hot.
Editorial Review – New York-style pizza and pasta joint gets the local lunch and late-night post-bar-pigout crowds. Outdoor seating, delivery, catering.
Great pizza, great customer service! – Bravo Pizza is amazingly delicious. The best pizza i've ever had. Their food is so fresh and made with the kind of care you'd imagine comes from a truly loving home. I brought my family from ny. Everything they make is so good. They have fresh pastas, sandwiches and delicious chocolate cannolis from the original Ferrara Cafe. Wow. And to top that, they have a great counter staff that actually care about Great service and that welcome you as if you're part of their extended family. I encourage you to treat yourself to this little piece of magic in Santa Monica.
Good Food, Bad Service – The pizza is good, but the service... not so much. Apparently they think its more important to refill their inventory than help the 5 people waiting. This isn't just one occasion either.
Also, pricey! $19 for fettucini alfredo w/ chicken? C'mon.
Good food, terrible delivery service. – The food is alright but forget about delivery. You'll never get your food and they won't bother to call to tell you the driver flaked. It's happened to me once and I let it go, but after the second time I don't order from there anymore. Go with Dominos or Pizza Hut. At least they show up.
Best Pie on the Westside – I'm from North Jersey and was weened on the best pizza in the country. I've been living in L.A. for two years, and these guys make the best pie I've tasted since I've been in SoCal. Not only do they make great pie for the region, but they stack up against some of my old haunts in Jersey and NYC.
They use decent cheese, which means you don't have to deal with the "runny orange oil slick." If Bravo starts using cheap mozz on their pies, you'll know by the oil congealing in pools on top of your slice. If I start seeing that, I'm going to say something to the staff, who, by the way is always very cool, very friendly, and good people.
They either make, or buy good sauce, too, but they need to use a little more, for my taste.
The crust is exactly what I demand in an East Coast style pie. Not too thick, not too thin, and good ingredients. In general, you want it fresh. If it's reheated, or out too long, the crust will crumble on you, once it's out of the oven. But that's a universal rule.
I've only ever had one other menu item, beside Bravo's pizza: a meatball parm sandwich. I will not have another one of those. The meatballs were tiny, mealy, and tasted like they came from a bag of Costco specials. The sub was sub-par, and consisted mainly of bread, accented with some cheese, and the aforementioned "meatballs."...for what? $10? Do I have to say it? FUHGEDDABODIT! SCHIVO!
But I do like their pies, and Bravo has very cool people running the store, so I will try some other subs. After all, they import Ferrara cannoli, and that's love.
The best- awesome owners and food – Love this place. The people who work there are very cool- the owners are the best and their NY pizza is so good- I just love it. I eat there at least once a week and everyone that I have turned onto this place loves it. Check it out.
