A Classic.
If I had to give any con about this restaurant it would be that it is not next door to my house, but then that is most likely a good thing for my waistline.
I introduced OP to my partner when we met 10 years ago and I had been going there 8+ years at that point. About 8 years ago we left the city to start a family in Auburn (Yes I said Auburn!). That fact has not stopped us from going to OP since (2x per month at least). We finally had our daughter 2 years ago and have now introduced her to their great spaghetti. She is picky (like dad) and is a huge fan. I personally have rarely ventured from the classic "house pizza" and "greek salad" (a must have)
The food is outstanding as well as the service. It is casual, very relaxed family, some outside seating and impressive service. I remember the first time we brought our daughter to the restaurant to have dinner where she could actually eat table food. The wait staff understood the "kid zone" of the table. I have discovered a great many wait staff don't understand you have to keep EVERYTHING out of the reach of the kid, hence the "kid zone" It may seem a little thing, but they treat her wonderfully and NEVER miss the mark in the 18+ years that I have gone.
This is by far my FAV restaurant and worth the 25+ mile drive one way. Prices are good and portions are great. I can not tell you enough how this is a great place to bring the family and a date (as I have done both over the years)
Note: They are planning to expand in Jan 2010 to take over the record store next door. Great News!
Editorial Review. Greek-style pizza and a menu of Italian-American standards keep families coming back to this casual trattoria.
Better than Pegasus. This is seriously some of the best pizza you can get in Seattle. They also have great salads and sandwiches and, although I have not tried them myself, I hear the pasta dishes are really good too. If you are a fan of pegasus pizza TRY IT! They are really similar but where I think Pegasus can sometimes be soggy, this place always serves up pizza that it piping hot and crispy. You will not be disappointed
Cozy and Fun. This is a great little pizza place. It's not overly large, but there's still a good amount of seating. During the summer, it's a great place to go and sit on the patio and do some people watching. I usually order a pizza with pesto on it and they have never disappointed me! The food is wonderful and you get a good amount for your money. The owner and people that work there are as friendly as can be, they will stay and strike of a conversation with you and make you feel at home. The service is great and very professional. You may have to hunt for parking in the area, but it's worth the search!
Buy A Pair of Glasses. We stopped here last Sunday afternoon. I was hungry for one of their great pizzas, a salad and a few pints of Fat Tire. We sat in front, noting that the cook in back had seen us (though as we soon realized, so what). When no one showed up after about ten minutes, we decided to switch to a booth. I'm tall, so there's no missing me. We sat for another ten minutes or so while the waitress dutifully watched over the cash register and the few occupied tables and booths toward the back. Frustrated, we simply left. I would not recommend this restaurant because (lack of) service is too important to ignore in review. No service means no good, so we definitely won't be back to Olympia Pizza. Fair warning: if you go, make some kind of commotion when you walk in so they'll know you're there. Good luck.
Its the bomb!. Its the best pizza in Seattle, by far. Being someone who hardly ever cooks and orders out a lot, I have tried many different pizza joints. The only one that really compares is Atlantic Street Pizza, but Olympia Pizza House is definitely better.
Wow. Wow! WOW!. Excellent place. Nice neighborhood. Covered seating on the sidewalk for a small group and loads of inside seating for many. The service was prompt, the food delicious and piping hot. Nothing fancy here, mind you but hey, two of us got enough for $22 we had to bring half of it home. Have I said wow?
Great for families. This place reminds me of the pizza places I went to growing up--lots of families sharing pizzas in red booths. It's a relaxed place to go to watch the game, too.
