Horrible food – The food at Alcatraz is obviously pulled from a freezer and microwaved. I have never paid so much for such horrible food. They do not employ chefs in the kitchen but college age kids that only know how to open packages and push a button.
The beer is ok, but leave it at that, don't waste your money on the food, you will be sorry you did.
Great Beer, average dishes – Beer is a little pricy ... but everday there is a diff beer special for $3.95 a pint!!!
we had the wise guy ..... it was great with oranges, reminded me of a lighter blue moon.
Great Name – The name makes this place appealing to me. It would be weird telling someone to meet you at alcatraz.. haha
BEST PLACE TO EAT! – Alcatraz was the best place my friend and i ate at are whole trip. We are both from San Jose so being there made us feel at home. They have the best onion rings i have ever tasted in my life. We also had the Alcatraz burger and that was so good. I cant wait to go back everytime i go to LA that will be my 1st stop i love it there.
Awsome place – Great pizza and killer micro brew!!! good service, but come early on Saturday Night or you might have a wait. Highly recommended!!!
don't waste your time or money on this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – First of all the water taste like it came from the toilet and so did the lemonade. The menu was limited and very expensive. The place was empty and the bartender was also taking our order. The food was really horrible. Everything taste like it was washed in the toilet. Don't go here really bad food, service and the prices are high. I have never cared enough to write a review but this place was just so bad.
Poor Service – They were already out of certain menu items at 11:30am for lunch, something as simple as bread. After waiting over 30 minutes for my waitress to check on our needs I finally had to walk to the bar from my table just to get a water refill. They were not at all busy so the poor service was unexplainable. 5 days later I see the charges from my debit card used has been overcharged. The GM insisted I left a 23% tip on a bill with poor service and unavailable food choices. I luckily kept a copy of my receipt. It is obvious they do not care to have repeat business. The only good thing is thanks to the chef, the food is good when they actually have what you are trying to order.
Editorial Review – San Francisco-themed restaurant and brewery serves up salads, burgers and seafood; also brews handcrafted beers and ales.
Terrible Dishes – The food is awful. Considering the money each dinner entre cost the level of quality is below average. The chicken is dry and over cooked. I had the jambalaya, and it was the worst jambalaya in the world. The cajun sauces was basically tomatoe sauce, the saugages were hotdogs and the shrimps were old and they didn't even devine them. This is a very cheap place with low quality.
BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD – OK, look, I can go to the DIVE bar, down the street, and pay $2 for a can of budweiser...
OR, I can go to ALCATRAZ, and get a LITER of FRESH MADE BEER for $6. You do the math.
Alcatraz simply is the best place in the world. You can also get a GIGANTIC plate of nachos -- enough for 6 people -- for only $8.
However, you shouldn't go -- you're just not cool enough.
