Citysearch Editorial Review – Anyone looking to impress out-of-town guests with the cultural prolificacy of Seattle can now pass up the Ethiopian fare in exchange for another hands-only meal: Lao food at this modest little restaurant near the Mount Baker lightrail stop. Some dishes like the papaya salad or whole fried fish will look familiar to fans of Thai food, but the flavors here--sour and sweet and wickedly spicy--are distinctly from Laos, and dishes are meant to be ordered with sticky rice and eaten with your hands. Ambiance isn't much to speak of, mostly tiki-chic wood carvings and embroidered silk, but the food is so good that you'll find yourself coming back after the guests have gone home.
BEST LAOTIAN FOOD IN TOWN – LIKE THE SAYING "DON'T JUDGE THE BOOKS BY ITS COVER", THIS RESTAURANT IS LIKE THAT. THE PHYSICAL APPRENCE IS NOT THE GREAT BUT WHEN I GOT INSIDE IT WAS A DIFFERENT STORY. WONDERFULLY AND VERY AUTHENTIC LAOTIAN FOOD. LOVE THE SPICY "SOM TUM" (PAPAYA SALAD), OUT OF THIS WORLD. OH! DON'T FORGET THE STICKY RICE AND BBQ CHICKEN. AHH TO DIE FOR. THE HOST THERE ARE SO FRIENDLY. LIKE TO SPICY FOOD. TRY IT OUT. I GO THERE ATLEAST ONCE A WEEK.
