I strongly recommend this place!!! – Hi everybody!
We went to Sophia's last weekend; it was the first time for us but not the last!
The food was great and the service too. The waitress is really nice.
We also really had fun with the group of Greek dancers who invited us to dance after the show.
we love that place, we will be back soon.
Best Authentic Real Greek Food in town!!! – As I always love to go to a Traditional restaurant with originality. Sophia's proved that to me last Friday. I started with the Saganaki ( goat cheese flamed with Ouzo) , followed by Tzaziki dip, Hummos, Falafel, Lukaniko (GREEK Sausage). For dinner, my wife had the Grilled Halibut. I had the most amazing Mousaka served in a real Eggplant. My friends got the Lamb Chops and the Chicken Souvlaki .Talk about experiencing traditional Greek Food .... This was by far the best experience I had with Greek Food. I noticed that despite having a full house on Friday and a 30 minute wait at the door, every single customer in the restaurant was getting outstanding service and personal attention. That thirty minute wait was actually perfect for us because that gave us a chance to sit at the Bar and have a few drinks. They always recomend that you make reservations for parties of 6 or more. To top everything off, we watched the belly dance show. They have this show every Friday and Saturday. I felt that the staff and the owners of Sophia's Greek Cusine deserve my time to write this review about the Hidden Jewel Of Placentia, the Best Atmosphere, Best Greek Food and the The Best Staff. Sophia's is my new home away from home.
Sophias greek cuisine – Hello Orange County,
if you think hummus or falafel is Greek food, that is not correct.
We have been at Sophia's.It's ok.Yes, just ok.
Nothing more than a below average.Three time me and my boyfriend visited Sophia's.
Each time was NOOO BODDY.Really cold feeling.
Don't you like to see a few people arround you when you go out for dinner?????

AMAZING!!! – I went to Sophia's on a Saturday night and I had a blast! The was live bellydancing and great music! Great atmosphere period. The food was amazing too. I ordered the flaming cheese and a hummus appetizer and both were so delicious. For the main course we had shrimp sauteed with fresh garlic, and basil and lamb chops that were so tasty. I love Sophia's and I recommend it to anyone who wants great greek food and a fun, ecletic atmosphere!
Good Food , Unfreindly Service – After many years of wanting to dine here, today my niece and I went for lunch. First impression we felt was that it was a very empty feeling restaurant , very cold and poor ambience. We went ahead and decided to stay and try the food. The menu is very lean, not many choices at all. We decided on the Hummus as our appetizer and Fafalel as our lunch with soup. The food was very enjoyable. Very fresh and light. The taste was great. However I found the service lacked in personality and though we were seating quickly time passed and we had to ask for our menus. We will not be returning to this restaurant even though we liked the food. There are far better Greek Restaurants with a more friendly and personable staff.
THE BEST GREEK RESTAURANT IN ORANGE COUNTY! – What a delicious experience! I have been looking everywhere for a restaurant that serves authentic Greek food. I went there on a there on a Friday night and they were packed. Luckliy they have a full service bar where me and my husband waited to be seated. The dinner was great and the service was too. They also had a belly dancer, which was so much fun! I love this restaurant.
The Best Gyro Plate in Orange County – Sophia's Greek Cuisine offers great food at reasonable prices-- the fact that it has stayed open for so long is a testament to the service it provides. This is a family owned and operated restaurant, and apparently they will shut down the restaurant for private parties. Sophia's also has a full bar.
Replicas of Greek art adorn the walls as Greek music is played at a volume that is loud enough to enjoy, but quiet enough so that you can clearly hear the people surrounding you. On weekends, a belly dancer performs a 20-minute set that is extremely fun for men and women of all ages.
I love Sophia's-- you will be thoroughly waited on by the family themselves. I definitely recommend ordering an appetizer, as well. The pan-fried goat cheese will be fired up right in front of you, and their domaldes are the best that I've ever had.
Great restaurant! – I've been going to this restaurant since the 80s (when it was across the street) and the food has always been wonderful. The price is right, the food is great, and the ambiance is good. The one thing I would say about this place is that since I began going to this restaurant as I got older (with friends, husband, etc.), the staff (specifically the owner) treated us differently (I think we may be the only "young" people who eat there). Overalll, I love this place and I won't stop eating there.
Nat'l Sales Manager – Wonderful dining experience, service was extraordinary, and the food...took me right back to Greece only 100 percent better. This is a jewel of Placentia and Orange County also. Everyone should try this restaurant.
