I have been here a few times, it was always good experience UNTIL TONIGHT! We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday, but it was so bad that I don't think "WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE" is even the words to describe. It was SURREAL and unexpected. Our server by the name of JOE threw the parking validation at us, rude and short with us, miscalculated our bill, and when we no longer want to deal with him, we asked him if we could speak with a manager to pay our bill, he said "YOU CAN GO DO THAT YOURSELF", and we asked him to point the manager out and he ignored the request. So my BF walked toward the bar/kitchen and the server stepped in front of my BF and prevented him to look for the manager and said "YOU ARE NOT SPEAKING WITH A MANAGER, YOU NEED TO PAY YOUR BILL AND GET OUT OF MY FACE BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS" and started saying other threating words. My BF walked away and JOE said "YES THAT'S RIGHT DO WHAT YOU ARE TOLD" and started to laugh.
After speaking with the manager by the name Dacia Price and expressed to her how we are upset and we shouldn't be threaten by their server, she was NOT apologetic at all for her employee's action, and then she said we still owe $80+. But the balance our server told us previously was no more than $30-40, we were surprised now all of the sudden the bill went up to $80 after she had a 1:1 with Joe. We have 5 separate checks and some were paid in CASH, so where did our cash go? When we still insisted to pay and settle the bill which was the real problem, she said that it's up to her to work out with employee and "it's on the house and that's ALL it matters" and started walking away from us. She made us feel like we were trying to get a free meal, while we have full intention to paid our 'real' remaining balance, which neither of her or the server could figure out. The manager was not concern about the threats that was made toward us, she did not want to hear what we have to say as customers, she obviously was not trying to smooth things out, she just simply DO NOT want to deal with us. There was no attempt to resolve the issue which was being threaten by her employee and NOT ever the bill, we are more than willing to pay we just no longer wanted to deal with the aggressive server who is incapable of providing us a clear explanation of what we owe and physically preventing us to discuss w/ a manager. When we asked the manger specifically on how to get a hold of Corporate office and/or owner, she instructed us that there is no corporate and no owner can be contacted, and we can ONLY DEAL with her directly. But later through a friend, we found out the owner was possibility there because Black Bottle was having an employee party.
In my personal opinion, compensating a meal is not adequate restitution after being threaten, there was not formal apologies was given. The server was inappropriate, the manager did not handle the situation. Since we were told there is no corporate and no owner to reach out to, please share my story and provide comments below if you know who can contact to get words to the owner and prevent this happening to anyone else.
