I had a bad experience on Friday, August 30th, 2013 at the Greenberg location in Winter Park FL. My daughter and I relocated to Mount Dora less than a year ago. She has retainers in for approximately three years now and one of them broke. Since we moved to Mount Dora, both of us have been going to Greenberg dentist for all our dental needs. During her first visit, her retainers were examined by the Orthodontist in Apopka, and we were advised that she would need braces for her lower teeth.
Because the broken retainer was scratching up her cheek and causing some discomfort, I called the Apopka’s location on 8/29 to take her in, however, I was told that the Orthodontist was gone for the day but seeing it’s an emergency I could try the Winter Park location because one would be there on Friday 8/30/13.
I immediately called the Winter Park office – the time was about 4:30 p.m. - and left a message with the answering service. The following morning - around 8:00 a.m. - I called again and did so approximately every 45 minutes and each time getting only the answering service.
I left work early and headed for the Winter Park office seeing it’s approximately one hour from Mount Dora. I got to the office around 2:30 p.m. and explained that her retainer is broken and that it is cutting up the inside of her mouth. They said that they could not do much but that they would make her comfortable. When she got into the room to be seen by the Orthodontist, the assistance asked about the retainers and when I mentioned that they were done by another dental office, she said that she will have to speak with someone. After a while, a member of the Orthodontist team came in and the first thing she said is that they cannot do anything for her.
I asked if they could just clip the section that is irritating her cheek and that didn’t work. I told her that I would sign any documents but that did not work either. She said that I would have to go back to the dentist who put the retainers in which is four and a half hours away, or pay $4,000.00 to have them remove those retainers and put their retainers in. She even said that I could go to the Orthodontist in the next plaza but they were not going to do anything for me.

I agree with: WORST PLACE EVER!!!!! Let me just preface my review by saying I now know where the University of Phoenix drop-outs find employment! (Sorry to say bad things about the university, but you know what I mean). I got a referral to Greenberg to have a wisdom tooth removed...but I didn't even see the surgeon: we waited an hour before the ladies behind the counter called me over to tell me that they needed a referral before I could see the surgeon. When I informed her I couldn't even make the appointment until the lady in that office had the referral IN HER HAND and verified the information, thus the reason I was in their office that day. She told my husband and me to sit down and wait....30 minutes later, I went up to the counter again to see what progress had been made. After waiting about 10 minutes for the other staff to find the lady I was working with (she was in the "back,") she proceeded to tell me and my husband that we were supposed to be calling our dentist to get that referral and x-rays. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I've got to say that I realize customer service has been downgraded because no on really gives a crap, but when it comes to your office possibly losing thousands of dollars, you'd think they'd be a little more on-task and at least TRY to do their job. The whole office is an organizational nightmare; the staff is literally getting paid to talk on/play with their cell phones (we say 3 girls standing in the halls playing on their phones the ENTIRE time we were waiting for our lady to call our dentist), and just the lack of being able to perform your job duties is astonishing to me. After we told them they didn't need our money and walked out, we got a call about 4 minutes later (after we were already on the highway heading home) from another lady telling us to come back because she had the referral the whole time. Wow. There aren't words for how messed-up and rude that office is-even though they magically "found" my referral, I don't feel comfortable having a "surgeon" from that mess even THINK about touching me teeth!!! First impressions are a must, and any dentist/surgeon working in that establishment apparently doesn't want to stay in business long..... Good luck!
WILLIAMSBURG IS THE WORST PLACE EVER!!! THEY CHARGE YOU WHEN UR NOT EVEN THERE, THEY SAY IS GOING TO COST YOU SOMETHING, THEN THEY CHANGE THE AMOUNT SAYING YOU DONT HAVE INSURANCE, CRAZY PEOPLE THEY ALREADY HAVE COPY OF MY INSURANCE IN THEIR RECORDS!!! YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT FOR 10AM AND YOU GO INSIDE AFTER ALMOST 2 HRS, DONT EVER GO THERE!!!! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU AT ALL! THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY! I WENT TWICE AND IM NOT COMING BACK!
Mixed Feelings – My company changed the Dental Insurance to save money and Coast and Greenberg are my only options.
The decor is very basic and I am always kept waiting. However, I am very impressed with Dr White who has replaced a crown and filled a chip in a front tooth. I think he is an excellent Dentist and on top of that he is extremely professional and polite. He should be working in a more upmarket place, but I'm glad he's at Greenberg.
DR MARCO IS A MORON!! WORST DENTIST – The man never went to dental school but passed the exam and did 9 month training and got license...well that is how it seems. His attitude is so poor, I have no idea how do these people even get any opportunity to destroy people while charging them for it. He is a low form of a humanbeing..one of these days, his license will be revoked, I guarantee it!!
Do not go here! They will rip you off! – I made the unfortunate mistake of going to Greenburg after moving to FL several years ago. I never had a cavity in my life. The dentist told me I had three. When I went in for to get them filled I had to wait an hour and a half. Then, shockingly, I was told I only had one cavity. That should have been a red flag but I let them fill it with a composite filling anyway. After being unable to secure another appt for several months, I tried another dentist's office. I was told I did not have any cavities and he couldn't even find the composite filling. Not sure what in the world was going on with Greenburg. Strangely, something similar happened to two other people I know. They were told they had multiple cavities, but upon getting second opinion, were told they had NONE! If you are new to town and looking for a dentist, go somewhere else.
Bad organization! – Awful! I went in there fora dental exam and cleaning with my 18 months old baby in the stroller and had to wait for more thna an hour in the waiting room. After whole hour passed I asked the receptionist if anyone is going to see me and she said it is going to be just another 5 minutes. I waited another maybe 10-15 minutes and told them I couldn't do this any longer and have to reschedule because my baby was getting tired sitting in that straller for an hour and getting cranky. After that they saw me and of course while they were taking x-rays my baby had to stay outside and he was screaming the whole time. It was horrible! I was on the edge of loosing my mind and so was my baby. I have to say that after my baby started screaming the whole reception office staff jumped in and tried to help entertaining him but it didn't really help. The whole dental exam took maybe 10 minutes and I had to wait for more than an hour for it! I had to cancel the cleaning for that day. This whole situation really made me mad and upset. The same long wait happens to my husband every time he goes to Greenburg Dental on Kirkman and he has an important job. This is very unproffessional and rude. They book TOO MANY patients for the day and they only have one dentist seeing them all and he just doesn't have time for them all! It has to change. I would never go there again but I see orthodontist at the same office and have to stick with them till I finish my ortho treatment. My advise, find a small private practice, don't go to Greenburg!!!
NASTY DENTIST OFFICE – Okay let me firt off by saying this is the worst dentist office ive ever been to. All the Greenburg Dental offices are nasty especially the one in Kissimmee and Williamsburg. If you want an infection in your mouth by all means go here. If you want rude staff member then do go here. If you want your dentist to stop by your area for 30 seconds or less yes go here.And if you want staff members who give you seven different answers for one questions then yes go to greenburg dental. You will regret it!!!! I did not want to give them a one star I wanted to give them a negative 5 star.
BIG WAITS, RUDE STAFF! BUT CHEAP! – Hi, I want to share with anyone interested my experience with Greenberg Dental in Deland. My first appointment was a huge dissappointment! The staff was rude and careless and the wait was outrageous (inexcess of 1 hour and 30 minutes beyond appointment time, 2x). After finally seeing Dr. Nelson on the ortho side he assured me that this was an exception and apologized profusely. My second appointment was with the dental side. We had a 1:15 appointment for a cleaning and was not seen by 2:45 when I left. Again the office staff was rude and careless, made several mistakes, and then assured me that my insurance was going to be billed for service never rendered, even if I was dissatisfied! Anyhow, the waiting room was drab, massive, and full and largely stayed that way for the entire duration of my visit! I wasnt the only one dissasitisfied either. Needless to say, the Dr.'s will never get a chance to earn my business because their staff never afforded them the opportunity. I will not return to Greenberg Dental and will advise everyone to steer clear.
