Not a very reputable firm.
The tech. that was sent to our home did not provide an estimate of repairs prior to beginning work on our condensing unit.
The tech. needed to leave to obtain an electrical component (capacitor) that was not stocked on his service van. He replaced component and cleaned the coils. After an hour of actual work (using our garden hoses and sprayer), I was presented with a $1,300 bill. With approx. $200 in parts and the remainder in "labor". Since I do not know of any industry (including lawyers, engineers and doctors) that get paid $1,00 per hour, I confronted the tech. and asked him to explain this amount.
He said that Mr. Frosty charges a flat rate because they don't know what they may encounter as they inspect the equipment. I disagreed with his explanation and contacted the main office to try to reason with the manager regarding a fair labor charge for work performed with a fair profit margin. This resulted in a reduction of $100 off the already inflated invoice.
I work for a commercial general contractor and know that these charges were out of line. This company simply took advantage of my lack of AC during 100+ degree weather.
If Mr. Frosty's policy is to charge a flat, extremely inflated rate for just showing up at your door, they may get your business for a day, but will never get you to call them for future work.
Do yourself a favor and call John Wayne, where techs evaluate the problem and provide an estimate and your approval of costs, PRIOR to performing work.
Mr. Frosty lacks integrity and wants to make a quick buck rather than a build customer loyalty.
LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE... POOR SERVICE – This company is now called Mr. Frosty and they are still bad.
After 1yr the AC stopped cooling the house. I called them out and the unit needed freon. They charged me 200$ for this. This was a NEW unit installed by these IDIOTS. Freon is leaking on a closed system. Therefore their workmanship is poor because the leak should not exist. They do not back there work for more than 1yr and all of it is poor.
If you are looking for a new AC unit go someplace else.
