Gone Downhill – The Sheraton NY, once my favorite place to stay in NYC (not Sheraton Manhattan that place is a mess) I am a preferred member there. I had not been there for a year and how it has changed. The appearance of the rooms are gross and the mini bars have been removed! The first room that I had been placed in had broken items, so I asked 4 a room change. I was then moved to a room that was even worse. The broken bath tub and heat factor of the room is something that I could have looked passed..Until 7am I was woken up to what sounded like hammering on my door and drilling through the walls. I was placed only 2 floors above renovations..... so I was forced to leave on barely any sleep. This place has really gone downhill and I will never be returning

Incredible! – Stayed here after checking out of a bad hotel a couple blocks away. The staff was incredibly accomodating (even apologized for the bad hotel). The best hotel staff I've dealt with. We were on the 39th floor overlooking the Hudson. The room was large and the heavenly bed was indeed heavenly. The restaurant was great. I will stay here from now on when I visit NYC. Couldn't find one thing wrong with it. Highly recommend it!

best location and rooms – We arrived at 10.30 and were given a very nice corner room on the 37th floor with incredible views over Manhattan, Hudson River, Empire State Bldng, Statue of Liberty etc. Although our booking was for a cluib level room, at check in we they explained that club only goes up to 17 or so floor and we were recommended a higher floor room instead, which of course was the right thing to do.

The gym was very good for a hotel, the breakfast at the club lounge aslo good. The room was modern, but felt slightly sterile because of the white everywhere

Pleasant Visit!! – After reading the reviews on this website, I thought I had made a mistake in booking a room here. But, after visiting Manhattan, I very much liked the hotel. Yes, it is a small Sheraton. The Sheraton Towers across the street is a much larger hotel. However, we found the lobby to be very nice and well kept. Our room was clean, the bell man very pleasant and helpful and the beds extremely comfortable. The room was small, but who spends that much time in their hotel in New York City. Overall for the price we received on the internet, it was very enjoyable and in a great location. We would stay here again!!

Over-Priced Motel – Ugly curtains, small rooms, individual AC/Heater unit in each room, thin walls that need to be sound-proofed. This is a motel with a fancy name and a good location. Not the most bang for your buck. One good amenity they have is the sweet sleeper bed.

great deal, great hotel – I landed this hotel on hotwire for a very reasonable price (relative to other nyc hotels anyway!)...checkin was the fastest ive ever had, the room was wonderful, the bed truly 'heavenly'...my only complaint - the gentleman from housekeeping who couldn't wait 10 seconds for me to answer the door when he knocked, and proceeded to walk right into the room...otherwise nothing to frown upon - great location, superior amenities, we will be back!

Excellent choice! – Highly recommend this hotel. We stayed here during the Blackout of 2003 and the hotel was VERY accomodating during the entire experience. We could not have asked for better staff and service. The hotel is in a wonderful location and has a beautiful view of the city. Definitely would come back to this hotel!

location location location – This hotel is great, the location is brilliant for a vacation stay, 1 block from Times Square, staff are excellent, can't say enough good things about it! I read so many reviews of different Manhattan hotels and I'm really glad I chose this one - my 7 year old daughter wanted to stay there forever! $207 a night, I probably could have paid less if I'd done some more research.

WARNING – This hotel, eventhough it is near Times Square and Fifth Avenue Shopping Centers, is every customer's nightmare. Yes, some of the staff are really nice and helpful but most of them are very uninviting and uncourtesy. The only good part about my stay at this hotel was that it was near Fifth Avenue shopping and Times Square.

Limey says – I was here for my first stay in NY back in 2000 at the expense of my employer - a well known composer - and found the hotel an adequate base.

Staff, on the whole, were ok but I found the snooty security at night a pain when rolling in (slightly squiffy) in the wee hours.
