This is one of my parents favorite restaurants. My favorite meal was a tubular steak that was sliced about 8 times with a black balsamic vinegar sauce; The steak was served medium rare and tasted delicious.

The Vitale family rises again, serving up old-school Italian fare in Little Canada. – The Scene
For more than 50 years, the Venetian Inn was Little Canada's fancy joint, the place people went for anniversaries and simple, rich Italian-American cooking. In 2001, redevelopment spelled doom for the stately digs, but the Vitale family hung on. They've now opened Little Venetian--a bright, casual cafe in a new strip mall. A giant photo of the Vitales, circa 1950, proudly oversees the modest room where the old recipes are served up to a new generation.

The Food
Compared to what you'll get at trendier places, the Vitale recipes are pure comfort food. Creamy, gooey heaps of fettuccini with a modest dash of garlic, simple meat lasagna, and spaghetti with meatballs (practically extinct in the local Italian food scene) make up this old-fashioned menu. Sicilian hoagies make a tasty lunch. Pizzas come with thin, chewy crusts and a nice choice of toppings--zesty pepperoncini and Genoa salami are a delicious combo.
