I'm heading up to Yorba Linda. Is Canyon Inn more like a motel or full-service hotel? I don't mind staying at a motel but was wondering if anyone has stayed there and if the rooms and service are decent? And if anyone could point me in the direction of a decent bar or saloon for the evenings with my business partners, that be great too. Thanks in advance.
The Canyon Experience – This is an amazing small local bar where you are sure to have a good time. Their Tuesday night prices cannot be beat! $5 pitchers and $2 shots from cute and friendly shot girls!
I have only been going there for a year now, but in that year I try to go at least twice a week! The bartenders are always ready to serve you with a smile on their face.
The BEST part of all is their new COUNTRY night every Friday!!!!! The have live bands there singing the latest country music and they are open to take requests! For a "hole in the wall" bar its one of the funniest bars I have ever been too.
I love Canyon Inn – First of all, I am a regular.
I wouldn't be a regular if I didn't think this place was awesome. The show was a pathetic joke and it did just what it needed to do. Gave Canyon Inn some new floors, paint, TV's, etc.... and A LOT of publicity thanks to people like the guy below who thinks anything on some "Reality" show is real.
Obviously that stuff was fake and it was for ratings. But I don't need to sit here and justify this. If you have not been to Canyon you should definitely check it out.
I LOVE CANYON INN :) The staff at Canyon are amazing. The staff is friendly and always do their best to give you good service. The drinks are cheap especially if you go on the right nights.I have been going to Canyon Inn since I turned 21, almost a year a half now. Since then I have gone to Newport bars, Huntington Bars, Downtown Fullerton, etc.... no matter how much fun those places seem to be, they just are never as fun as the good ol Canyon Inn! Its always nice going to a bar where you feel comfortable and you not only feel like the staff gives you good service but like they actually want to be there. Canyon inn has been around for 40+ years for a reason, it is one of the best bars around. Johnny and Tracie always take care of all of there regulars, and always go out of their way to make the newcomers come back. And Mario the bouncer/bartender is awesome. If you are looking for somewhere to go and have a great time you should visit the Canyon Inn, best nights are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday :)
I LOVE THIS BAR!!! I moved to Yorba Linda in Jan of 2011, did not know many people in the area. My husband used to work at the Canyon Inn a long time ago and still knew a lot of the employees and the owners. When we went in and he introduced me to everyone they so friendly and welcoming. I came from a small town in Oregon "where everybody knows your name" and was looking for a new bar in CA with the same feeling and the Canyon was it! I feel so welcome every time I walk in the door! Food is great, drinks are amazing and the staff is stellar! As for all the comment about it being ugly, and no cute bartenders......maybe you should get your beer goggles fixed cause the ladies and gents that work there are H-O-T HOT!! And, Inn, is not always a hotel, quit taking crap from that stupid show, I know plenty of bars that have the word "inn" in the them! All in all I would recommend this bar to anyone that is looking to have a good time with great people and fun music!!
The Canyon Inn - wouldn't go there again . . – We went to the Canyon Inn last Friday night. First thing, we couldn't get a drink . . . the bartender was not paying attention to what goes on in front of him. It took me handing over my money to someone who was already sitting at the bar to get a drink for me. And yes the bartender is male and I'm female. A domestic beer was $5 . . . . which to me seems way to high for a dive bar like that. The music was decent but way to loud, you had to scream to talk to someone who was standing 2 inches from you. Apparently now they are country on Fridays . . . which means they will be competing with InCahoots in Fullerton and the much classier country saloon "The Ranch" in Anaheim. I would never go back to the Canyon Inn. There's too many other bars out there who's bartender's know about customer service.
Review from a nonregular – So, first let me say that I wouldn't consider myself a "regular". I go with the same ONE friend on occasional Thursday late nights for 5 dollar pitchers and 1 dollar beers. I've never had any issues with the bar tenders, or foam, or weak drinks (I'm a liquor kind of gal). I don't know who the regulars are and I don't go there to eat food.
The music does tend to be a little loud, but that I'm used to. I don't see a lot of old people and I don't know who the owner is. I see lots of guys there, but I have seen my fair share of women there as well.
I have no complaints about this place except that the bathrooms are small, which is whatever to me. The bouncers seem a little grumpy, but they are bouncers so I wouldn't expect any less. This is a bar, not a TGIF. If you want TGIF, go there.
Good prices, drinks, and people watching. Definitely interesting and generally diverse groups show up to this place on Thursdays.
My best guess is....... – My guess is that everyone who wrote a positive review is a regular at this bar!! 24 reviews, 24 regulars!!
Really made an ass of yourself on the tube dude! Rescue did you a favor and you took it and fouled out.
DUMSHYT! – Rename it the "Trailer Park Inn", "Watering Hole" or "Dew Drop Inn", more appropriate. Hard headed owner has "no clue" how to MANAGE a profitable pub. There are dive bars all over the country turning a profit without being completely dirty.
The makeover was like putting lipstick and high heels on a PIG, looks nice but still a pig. One of the easiest things to do to a failing restaurant is to change the name and paint, to attract new customers. To get new customers to return you have to get rid of the dirty old men (over 50++ REDNECKS) and makeover the restrooms. Those types of people are the kiss of death.
Save the FOAM? They did know there were going to be cameras there right? All they thought to clean was the kitchen! I would bet you J. Taffer would've had a field day on that one! Filthy bars get filthy customers period and it starts from the parking lot! The owner is an embarrassment to Baseball and America.
You have one of the smartest people in the world try to help you and you fight him at every turn. Because that's what morons do.
Pay attention to the little things, go regularly to franchise restaurants (TGIF has smart people behind it, take some notes) they are succesful for a reason. Clean, smart menu, trained staff, no visible tattoo's or piercings other than ears (so young ladies with no future other than bar maid should not get arm ink if you want to make $300+ a night in tips) and a no bulls^% policy.
I understand it will never be a high brow place but there are little things that can change everything, I'm sorry to say it but the owner needs an education, anger management (I suspect divorce, several failed relationships and restraining orders) and management skills along with long term therapy due to his repeated failures as a baseball player and saloon owner. You are not making your parents proud and if you had handled things better the show would've made you rich. I think that place could be a gold mine but never to the current owner.
Really? Are you insane? I have both arms completely done, gauged ears and facial piercing. I have a great career in a professional office and believe it or not people do respect me! Just because a bar is no good does not mean that you are better than the employees that work there so while you are suspecting ?(I suspect divorce, several failed relationships and restraining orders)? everyone reading your review is suspecting BITTER OLD WOMAN THAT QUOTES TV SHOWS WITH HER CATS! Get a life!
Owner is egotistical jerk and stupid – Nothing good here. The remodel looks way better and some of the staff are friendly. First off, the owner is an absolute uber-macho alpha male moron. Been in there before and after Bar Rescue. They changed the name for a while to Canyon Saloon and brought in a lot of new customers. But of course the owner and his negative IQ and macho self changed the name back to Canyon Inn and promptly killed his business... again. Sounds like a redneck Motel 8. The bar is famous for having a small band of "regulars" who are meth heads, alcoholics, always drunk, all scraggly and over 40 and 50 years old. They promptly hound anyone who comes in and molest girls who come in... which is why you will see very little to no women in the place. The owner and his alpha male ego continues to ruin and run this place straight into the ground. Not worth anyone's time or expense to go there. The owner needs to be booted because he is a serious jerk andamazingly stupid. Hopefully he will go bankrupt in short order and sell the place so someone human and intelligent can buy it.
Its A local Bar – i Dont live far from this place and from time to time i will stop in during the afternoon with my wife have a drink and a philly steak sandwich.
I had alway, found this place to be fun , people are freindly, It get a little crowded past 6 pm sometime too crowded
