Creative synthesis of foods and tastes that one seldom finds – Every time I go I leave having learned something about putting foods together that I would not have thought to try.
A Gem in Lawrenceville – It was Valentines Day and i forgot to make a reservation! We tried the Ferry House and didn't have much luck. They referred us to Acacia in Lawrenceville and they will never know what a favor they did for us. The hostess admitted that they were very booked, but was able to give us a table. The food from beginning until the end was unbelievable! The taste and quality was superb! The service was on point and I would highly recomend this restaurant to everyone.
food is suffering due to new ownership – I went to Acacia Restaurant this weekend with my husband and two of our friends. The experience was absolutely dreadful. We made a reservation a week ahead and the rude hostess, I think her name was either Kelly or Karen, made us wait for an hour. This was not the worst part, though. When we finally were seated the hostess threw down our menus and sarcastically wished us a good time. She and I believe her boyfriend were up in the front and were constanly making remarks about the customers loud enough for my table to hear, which continued to ruin our experience. My husband and I have been coming to Acacia for years and the food has always amazed us, but this time the quality was not there. My husbands filet was rough and my fish was quite dry and tasteless. When we asked if there was a new chef, our server told us that there was a new owner. I believe that this may be the source of the problems. The new owner is skimping on the quality of the food and using that money to hire a classless host and hostess. He should worry more about the food and staff before his new business fails miserably!
After five years of continuously dining out at Acacia, my husband and I will no longer be attending this horrible restaurant.
creative ecclectic – Acacia is a quality restaurant. Chef is creative in using fresh ingredients for an interesting ecclectic meal. A great place for a romantic dinner. Reserve way in advance, particularly for holidays .It is a small and very popular restaurant. We reserve 10-12 months in advance for New Year's Eve. Service is attentive and professional. BYOB.
