To Mr. Paul Whatley, General Manager:
I recently had the dubious pleasure of doing business in your establishment, Hendrick Toyota. The process was both miserable and tortuous. The Fire Marshall should not allow you to post the 10 Commandments in your dealership, for surely it would burst into flames. People with heart conditions should not be allowed into your shop, for certainly the stress would kill them.
I am now in receipt of letters stating they trust my "experience was a good one." These letters are signed by my very tormentors! The Devil himself could not have come up with a more nefarious scheme!
Surely some good laughs were had at the many lies that were told me. My old car was too old, and in such poor repair, that only $1,000 could be had for it (well below the KBB "fair" value), for it would have to be wholesaled. Such comedians! What funny pranksters! The very same car is now available on your lot as being in great condition, and to be had for the low price of only $4,989. Yes, you really got me with that one! Gold stars and medals all around!
And how your chest must swell with pride, knowing that your best (and biggest) salesmen placed me in your largest office, and proceeded to employ all manners of intimidation and brow-beating upon me. Surely you have the finest schools in the nation on mental warfare and psychological terrorism! "Huzzah to you, sir!" I say! Bring in the CIA, the FBI, the military - for surely you can teach them a trick or two!
And how you heart must go pitter-pat, knowing how my old car was moved (dare I say hid?), trapping me on the lot. Anything for a sale, I say!
In short, your dealership is both small in character, and large in horrors.
If ever again I feel the need for sublime mental torment, heart-stopping stress, and massive guilt-trips, I shall be sure to frequent your place straight-away!
WORST PEOPLE EVER – Toyota of North Charleston is the WORST dealership I have EVER done business with. Rick Hendrick should never ever have another dealership. This dealer gives Toyota a bad name! I had the worst experience with this dealer.
I was pushed into a car that did not suit the needs of my family.
The salesman LOST the registration to my trade-in.
In the following weeks I had to make 3 additional trips to the dealer to complete paperwork that should had be completed the first time.
A month later my husband was told by the service department that there was nothing wrong with our brand new tires just to discover that there was a problem that could have had disastrous effects if put on the highway. I have 3 small children and that does not work for me. He didn't even apologize about his mistake.
Against better judgment my husband traded-in his BMW 6 weeks ago for a Honda Civic that continues to slip out of 3rd gear. At the time of the trade my husband informed the salesman that both of our names were on the BMW. Salesman then informed him that my signature was not needed and everything would be fine.
I receive a call 6 weeks later from the title clerk just to be told that I need to come to the dealership and sign paperwork.
I will NOT continue to deal with incompetence.
These guys rock! – These guys were great! Very friendly, answered all my questions. Highly recommend them! This was my first solo car buying experience and will easily go back when its time for my next car.
Don't go here for your Toyota needs – This place only seems to care about getting you to the sales desk. You deal with so many people you can't even remember all their names and in the end you don't know who you would have to contact, if anything was ever to happen. Leased a brand new car and after about 1500 miles it already had issues. Took it there, said it was fixed and after I drove off, the same issue occurred. Left back a second time and it happened again. After the 3rd time, I asked to speak to a Manager and they would not even let me do that. I feel as though once I got into the car, they didn't care anymore about customer service.
