Terrible Customer Service – I had planned to purchase a lot from Alpine. Food for a large party. I called to order. Ring ring ring. Then a heathen answers the phone, I'm assuming that this was his first phone conversation. He can not do the order I like, but won't give reasons or options. just "no, no, no". I purchased from another Vendor. Check out Tully's instead and save yourself from a beginning phone etiquete lesson for an Alpine employee.

agree with you, Pedro – I lived in Germany for a time and have found the sausage, cut meats, and oooh, the REAL BROTCHEN are the real thing. The store setting in a neighborhood is very European (German especially). The shop IS small and it does get crowded, just proving that the product is worth the time. I have never experienced rudeness or felt neglected. And, if you want to try out your German, they are happy to share with you. Love also the ability to find spices and candies that you'd otherwise have to go online for. If there is something you would like to have from Germany, they'll order for you. It is VERY German, in my opinion. If you want Mickey D. service, no, this isn't for you. You will be waited on quickly if no one else is in line. I only gave 4 stars because I would like eventually to see some seating (even if outdoors) to enjoy a home made brotchen with real German mustard; but in truth there isn't much room on that little triangle of property for this service and I don't think I'd like to see them move to a more expensive, busier neighborhood. Second thought, maybe I should give them 5 Stars!

I, too, think NOT – Had a very similar experience to "englundgeister." Service, if one can call it that, was almost non-existent and implied that the staff had other things to do and, as such, was doing me a big favor by serving me. After observing the service given to the four people ahead of me in line, I got the strong impression that customers were an inconvenience. The rude attitude extends to the way they deal with customers on the telephone, too.

The sausages were average, at best. Certainly not worth more than a five minute drive out of one's way.

Zuper Wurst with a Smile – This place is my favorite food store in Albuquerque. The wurst is super fresh with great variety. I'm not German but I think all the meats are genuine. I always get a pound of Knockwurst, a pound of Bratwurst and a pound of Polish Sausage to throw on the grill along with a pound of sauerkraut.

Don't listen to the outlier review that was negative on the service. If they are not packed they usually greet me and offer to help before I even clear the front door.

This place earns 6 stars on a 5 point scale.

A "5-star rating"? I think not! – I traveled across town to visit this place, for the very first time...stood waiting, for several minutes...was never acknowledged, apologized to, nor asked to wait, during all that time! There were two people working behind the counters, and only a couple, and a single man being waited upon. Not the place that made me feel welcome...not the place to spend my money. If they haven't the grace to make me feel welcome...they obviously don't need my patronage! And...how did they know that I didn't have $500 worth of desire for German products, anyway? Never again!!
