Great place to buy original records and if you don t want to spend alot/ he also has reissues. I Bought The Best!!! The prices were reasonable for the original music/ label.

Nice guy, would definetly go there again. One of the best record dealers in the USA and I have been to alot.

Friendly , courteous service with a smile from the owner and his dog.

Rich the owner was a pleasant suprise from the usual hum drum doesn t know anything about music dealers. Be nice to people and they are nice to you.

Thanks for listening,

Outrageous and ridiculous prices/pricing – I will skip the "unpleasantries" ( The past reviews are spot-on) and cut straight to the chase. Wax Trax is not a record store per se; it's more like a museum where records go to die. Rich ( the owner) doesn't understand that records are meant to be played, listened to, and enjoyed instead of being framed and placed behind glass. That being said, there were several records that I was interested in purchasing, but none of them contained a price. In fact, not one item in the entire store had a price tag. I thought that to be peculiar. Upon entering the store, Rich declared that his store was " Expensive" and I'd soon learn that that was an understatement. Heeding the advice of past reviews, I only brought to the counter 3 records that I was interested in, with two of the lps being identical except for one was a reissue. Upon handing Rich the records, I stated that there were other ones that I was interested in but since nothing had a price, to price the three so that I can guage the cost. He immediately logged onto his PC and began searching for a price. I asked him which websites he used to determine a price which he did not reply. He said that the first record, which was a 1990's reissue of a rare early-70's orginal, was $100. I scoffed. Then he priced the other original at $100 and the reissue of that original at $65. I practically laughed in his face. His pricing consists of logging onto gemm or another online store and he searches for the album and quotes the highest price? That's laughable! When I returned home, I promptly got online and order both records, including shipping, for under $60. Real record collectors should avoid The Wax Trax Museum like the plague. It appears Rich is married to his records and wants to be buried with them.

AVOID – Avoid this place. It is overpriced and the owner was just a total jerk! When I first got there, I thought it was the coolest place I've ever seen. Lots of amazing records, and other music memorabilia. I quickly found 5 or 6 records I wanted to purchase. I asked the owner how much they were, and he sharply told me to leave them there and he'd tell me. I went back to look at more records, and about 10 minutes later he told me they were $40 each. I said thanks, and put them back because they were all available other places for about $10-$13 each. He mentioned he had a "bargain basement" with records between $10 and $20. I found two records down there, and he told me they would be $60 and $40. I again put them back. I said "thanks" as I was leaving, and he just gave me a dirty look. Shame, I spend about $5000-$10,000 a year on vinyl, and he won't be getting a cent from me!
