las vegas joes crab shack – I love joes crab me n my bf go every weekend i dont know why people write bad reviews, first of all if your going to go to a sea food place order sea food dont order a sandwich & comment about how bad it was, i always get the steaming pot with the cajun flavor thats the best, the people are friendly n the manager is a sweetheart he goes around and check on everyone making sure everything is ok, the price is good for being seafood place, and on the weekends theres a ballon guy for the kids he make's whatever you want his amazing!
HORRIBLE! – The commericials always looked good, so I decided to take my roommates out to lunch...
We got greeted, okay, cool. The server took about close to 10minutes to take our drink orders and she constantly used the word "Okie Dokie" to our table and the table next to us.
Drink orders came, another 10minutes later. My roommate order corona.lite...and she brought over corona extra...she replied "We actually dont have any Corona.Lite"
I ordered the blackend mahi sandwich...disgusting peice of crap!!! My roommate ordered the crab and something else in a bucket...it took him almost my entire meal to get all the meat out of the crab...
And they try to soften you up by asking if they can take a picture for their website...and if they brought we brought the picture in on the next visit, we'd get a free appetizer...uh, no thanks!
For the price they charge, its not worth it! Save yourself some money and go to LVAC right next door and get more bang for your buck!
Over Priced and over rated! – I'm amazed a place like this has survived as long as it has! I had the new "Bean Town Bake" Steampot and it was horrible! EVERYTHING was over cooked....even the corn! Forty buck's for two really small, mealy lobsters', rubbery oysters, soggy corn, and dry/tough shrimp... Terrible! Here's a Vegas tip-Go to Ellis Island, where the food is far superior and you can get three entries for less then what I paid for one!
A colorful seafood restaurant for kids of all ages--especially the younger ones. – In Short
Admittedly kitschy, unavoidably noisy, this Red Lobster for rug rats is like an oversized seaside shanty awash in oceanic memorabilia--fishing nets, souvenir trinkets, plastic flotsam and jetsam. Staffed with a lively crew of G-rated table-dancing servers, the family-friendly chain anchors its menu in all things crab: Crab balls, crab cakes, crab dip, crab gumbo. Finicky children opt for corndogs or hamburgers; shellfish-phobic adults dine on rib eye steak or mesquite-grilled chicken.
Horrible Crabs – I had Alaskan King crabs and they were the worst I have ever had. They were either very old if not decaying, or they had been cooked so many times the meat was like rubber that was breaking down into mush. I actually complained and they brought out more of the same. The shells were like rubber and soggy as well. Really bad and way too much money for something that tasted and had the texture of a old dish sponge.
Should be called Joe's BLAND Shack – I had never eaten at a Joe's Crab Shack before, so one night I decided to take the family out to eat some so-called good seafood. The only pro was that it was kid friendly, had a playground for them to play in and the servers danced to the Car Wash to entertain the children.
I will never go back to eat there and here's why: HORRIBLE service, (waited 10 minutes for a server to even ACKNOWLEDGE us), 7 minutes to get our drinks from the bar, 10 more minutes to get our appetizer, and our entree came out 5 minutes within getting our Calamari. It seemed the servers were more interested in dancing than serving us.
The broiled shrimp trio was good, but it DEFINATELY could have been better. A little bland tasting and the shrimp were kind of rubbery, like they had been overcooked. My husband had the King crab, which was good, but not enough crab for the price. My daughter had popcorn shrimp, and the portions could have been bigger in my opinion.
I would definately NOT recommend this restaurant to people who want to have a nice, quiet dinner, and the servers get on tables and dance and kids are constantly running around.
Stay Away! – The only things going for this place are its lively decor and kid friendly atmosphere. Quite honestly, I can't decide whether the food or service was worst--both failed miserably! Avoid the fried oysters (if that is what they really were) at all costs. Don't even consider the place if you or someone in your party is vegetarian. They won't find anything on the menu catering to their tastes. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences that I have had in Las Vegas.
not enough to warrant a return visit – after hearing the way our concierge praised this place, we had such high expectations. the place looks like a nice steak house with leather banquettes and white tablecloths. the service was very good, the waiter was attentive and friendly. the food, alas, was really disappointing. we ordered the blue crab claws, about 6 or 8 came with the plate, then we ordered the sides separately. the dishes came, and the claws were just that, and bland on top of eveything. the sides were HUGE plates, enough for the four of us to share. the best part of the meal was the lyonnaise potatoes and the wine. expensive, bland and completely uncreative. for a chain with such high praise, they definitely need to come up with something more creative.
Joe should review some of its recipes – When I first went to Vegas. My friend told me that he wanted to try a great seafood restaurant. I thought it must be good because I see them all over the place. Yet, I thought the menu would be predominately crab. I must say that they don't offer the selection that I thought of. I believe that chain seafood joints don't taste that good. So I encourage if you want seafood. Find a local favorite, that has been in its location for some time.
