We didn't invent entertainment - we perfected it. Enjoy star-studded events at the Grand Garden Arena. Indulge in world-class shows, dining, and nightlife at a variety of restaurants and lounges. Revel in the beauty of our stunning nightclub Hakkasan with a celebrity DJ line-up like no other. MGM Grand is the Entertainment Authority.
With a price tag rumored to be as much as $200 million, it's no wonder the MGM's brand new, wildly over the top (in a very good way) Hakkasan nightclub (and restaurant) attracts everyone from Jennifer Lopez to Deadmau5. Whilst exploring all 80,000 square feet, visit the Ling Ling Lounge for seriously crafted cocktails and open seating at any unreserved VIP booths.
Not the best – The Casino and Hotel itself are great, everything you could possibly want is all right there. The rooms however are not great. DO NOT stay in the west wing..terrible room! So small and cheap we moved to a different room in the signature tower and it was a little better. This was our second trip to Vegas, we stayed at the Bellagio the first time and the MGM does not compare. I really liked the pool and shopping at the MGM, but would only stay at this hotel if I paid the extra to book a suite.
Not good – Hate to say it but, it stunk. First 4 songs were terrible. Totally disappointed in the song selection.
It will take almost an hour to get finished. – What is it?
Great room service – Easy to navigate, GREAT room service!
Never have to leave – Heck this hotel has it all, great resturants, people and location. I love Wolfgang Pucks! You can take a taxi and be at any part of the strip in 5 minutes. Cant wait for City Center to be completed!
Good hotel choice – Don't be concerned about staying at the MGM Grand. It's a good place from the 1 night experience we had here. We were able to get $75/night rooms with a $35 restaurant credit. We got to the hotel at 9 am and went to the check in counter to see if we could get our rooms early, even though official check in wasn't until 3 pm. They told us the rooms were being cleaned and to call the front desk in an hour and the rooms should be ready. Sure enough, we were able to get in. This is on a Thursday keep in mind. Fast elevators in this place! There are so many elevators for each wing that you rarely have to wait more than 30 seconds for one. The rooms have an old Hollywood theme and is very art deco. Very comfortable beds! I didn't want to get out of bed the next morning they were that good. The rooms and bathrooms were decorated nicely, though not as nice as say, The Mirage. The staff at the MGM was very helpful and addressed any concerns and questions promptly. Beautiful cocktail waitress staff in the casino, though not at scantily clad dressed as some of the other casinos. Yes, this place is big...you will walk a lot! Lots of nice looking restaurants to choose from, though they are all pricey. Expect to spend $30-60/meal at most of these places. A note about the restaurant credit: We thought they would just give us a coupon that we could use at the MGM's restaurants, but you actually have to charge the meal to the room, and they will take the $35 off the bill. We didn't know this, so we missed out. Oh well, nice to know for next time.
Very disappointed in accomodations and customer service – We took our first trip to LV and figured that the MGM Grand had a great reputation, s o we went with this hotel. We will never go again. First, we waited 2 hours in line as they had overbooked and were farming people out to the Towers, which I hear is very nice, but why did I have to wait because they overbooked? The management crew were a young mand and woman, who after being yelled at a few times, decided they would take care of matters from behind the desk. We waited 2 hours to go to a room on the 3rd floor; we walked down a long and dirty (can they clean the rugs once in a while?)hallway to a smelly (sewage smell each time we walked to our room through the West Wing Bar) bar and then to our room. The room itself was sparse, but nice. Only one chair for my husbnd and I to sit in; No privacy at all; bathroom right on top of the room. It was a disappointing first experience; especially since we picked it because of the name. I must say that the MGM was the best for gambling. The gambling area was very nice, the people working the tables were very nice and the MGM has a good exhaust system that took away most of the smoke smell. The waitresses were very nice and prompt! We actually went to many casinos, and we found that the MGM and NY NY were the best for the smoky smells and service. We LOVED NYNY and if we go back will stay there.
We did try to talk to a customer service person at MGM many times, but it was so crowded each time, so we didn't. I did ask for compensation for waiting 2 hours and was told no. Flat out.. MGM Grand...grand what??
Prepare to be treated like the steerage on the Titanic – It doesn't matter if you dress well. It doesn't matter if you are 'attractive,' polite and rich.
This place is about putting you in your place socially!! lol I mean if you are into being treated poorly - some people dig that - go to Tabu.
Pay full cover, wait in a line (while the lounge is empty), and finally get inside. Every table - even the tiny ones have a prominent 'reserved' sign ALL NIGHT. Want to sit down? No way Jose! If you pay $400 for bottle service and you burn through that hourly or so + extravagant tips + tolerate the constant warnings that the people 'who really reserved the table" might be coming in any minute - you MIGHT be allowed to sit. Or you can pay $1500 for a dedicated Nicole Richie wannabe server to bring you drinks. That is for you. Not for your parties friends. They are also $1500 unless you communicate with them via two-way radio while they stand in the steerage area :).
You also get treated like a redhead stepchild at PURE, but at least there you might bump into a celebrity or two and they have that great upper deck area.
Here at TABU you get put in your place from the get go. Actually funny because it is over the top. Don't go unless you are into being treated like a leper or you really plan on blowing at least $1.5k on essentially average looking server/models - ie the Nicoles ....
~~~ Rouge ~~~ – ~~~ I was very impressed at the serenity I felt there myself. The seating is a few typical close quarters tables close to the bar and the mellow but striking redlights were the best I've deen since my best friends party garage. Along the walls there was close to the ground Middle Eastern type of lounging furniture. It was totally cool having my room down the corridor from it. Simply put it reminded me of a Oriental Opium Den on some movie set. :P
This early 30's couple wishes we stayed somewhere else. – Service: Personal service gets lost at this Vegas giant.
Rooms: Spa suite was very nice.
Shows: KA was psychodellic fun.
Pool: Think spring break...loud obnoxious drunks. Not a place to relax and unwind.
In your face action 24-7. Great for party goers.
