The Palm Restaurant is keeps true to “Steaks and Sketches” – Let’s start with the Salads. The Caesar Salad is chopped hearts of romaine, tossed with garlic croutons and Caesar dressing, and topped with grated Parmesan. The dressing needs a little work, maybe bump up the anchovy and garlic content a bit. If you add a little salt and fresh cracked pepper, it’s just fine. Thumbs up with 4 stars!
The Hearts of Palm Salad is chopped up romaine lettuce, huge hearts of palm, tomatoes, kalamata olives, and a sliced hard-boiled egg. This salad is outrageous! The garlic vinaigrette dressing is crisp and punchy combined with the saltiness of the olives and sweetness of the tomatoes. This salad just jumps out at you. Thumbs up with 5 stars!
The Palm always has some kind of special running like Steak and Lobster. The specials are normally a salad, entree, side, and dessert. Below are a couple of past specials that may come around again in time for your next visit. Check out their website for their current special or ask your waiter.
The first special is the 9 oz. Filet Mignon with Shrimp Scampi. The portion of filet is more than grand. The Palm proudly serves aged USDA Prime Beef so you know every cut is going to be great. The grillmasters in the kitchen prepare your steak to exact specifications and always plate it with perfection. Even though the filet is a leaner cut, there is some excellent marbling making the meat more juicy and flavorful. The shrimp scampi is awesome! The shrimp is cooked to perfection, nice opaque color and crisp to the bite. The scampi sauce is so buttery and garlicky, you might want to dip your bread in it. You almost don’t want to waste it. Thumbs up with 5 stars!
The second special is the 9 oz. Filet Mignon with lobster tail. The lobster tail is cooked to perfection with a sweet flavor. The clarified butter just draws the sweetness out. Thumbs up with 5 stars!
If you’re feeling like splurging on the regular menu, here are some choices that you might like to try.
The Bone-In Prime Rib is served swimming in au jus served with a side of creamed horseradish. This is the best prime rib in Las Vegas. Roasting it with the bone-in just gives it so much flavor. The outer rub has just the right amount of seasoning and creates a wonderful crust. The meat is tender and the marbling is dazzling. If you can finish this in one sitting, you’ll be a champ. It weighs in at about 18 oz or more. Most likely, a doggie bag will be in your future if you order this. Thumbs up with 5 stars!
Did someone say lobster? Fresh whole lobster is the house specialty at The Palm. These are tender, succulent, premium lobsters from Nova Scotia and available in 3-6 pounds. A 3-pounder is just enough for one person and is quite succulent. They are split and grilled to perfection and served with clarified butter. The claws are cracked tableside by your waiter. It’s almost like getting a show when the lobster shows up. That’s what makes The Palm the best. Thumbs up with 5 stars!
What’s steak and seafood without sides? You didn’t think that you were just getting meat.
The Creamed Spinach is to die for. It’s got a nice, creamy base with just a hint of nutmeg. It really makes it unique among most creamed spinach. The nutmeg makes you crave more and then suddenly, it’s all gone. Thumbs up with 5 stars!
The Three Cheese Potatoes are definitely the best starch side on the menu. It’s like a cross between mashed potatoes and potatoes au gratin. The cheese is browned on the top giving it a crispy, smoky flavor. The potatoes are made with red potatoes so it gives it a more velvety texture. Thumbs up with 5 stars!
Are you full yet? We can’t forget about dessert and coffee. If you’re too full and you ordered one of the specials, get it to-go and enjoy it the next day. No shame in that.
Just a great as the original – The waitress was very attentive she was great. She took our order and dinner came out almost immediately. The steak melted in our mouths and the lobster was a treat. We were full but how can you turn down dessert when they bring your choices to the table? Love the Vegas Palm as much as I love the original in Manhattan.
Over hyped – The interior of the restaurant was unappealing so we sat at a pseudo alfresco table. We each ordered the much hyped 3-course business lunch, selecting Caesar salads and the twin tenderloin filets served with caramelized onions, wild mushrooms and bordelaise sauce. In addition we received a large plate of cottage fries and fried onion rings. My wife chose the key lime pie while I went with the New York cheesecake.
Worst meal every had anywhere – Had reservation was seated about 20 min late. Place had a crowded sat at the bar had a drink. The drink was good and bartender was great. Was seated and service was slow right off the bat. No menu when seated, waiter went to table that was seated after us first. Order Tea and water that took awhile. Finally order or food i had chicken Parm. and my wife had Halibut with peppercorn. Food took a while which might explain why it was over cooked. My chicken was burnt on one end and hard and tough. My wife fish was dry and had peppercorn just sprinkled on it. It really looked and tasted bad. The manager came by and saw my wife had maybe took 5 bites of her fish and was done. Told her she couldn't stop eating. I was going to complain at this time but the manager started to make small talk and was actually very nice. At that point it would have been akward to complain even though as the manager i would have ask if the food was alright. We had a show to go to at 9:30 and just got there about 5 min early. Maybe the cook had a bad night but for that kind of money it should be better.
WORST FOOD AND SERVICE IN LAS VEGAS --- AVOID THIS PLACE! – As a local who's given The Palm 3 different chances on 3 different occasions, I've given up on this restaurant ever getting a clue. My wife and I have gone to many of The Palm restaurants both in the U.S. (Boston, Houston, LA, DC, NY) and abroad (Puerto Rico and Mexico City) and we always get a good meal EXCEPT FOR THE LAS VEGAS LOCATION. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! Service is always poor, staff are idiots and clueless, and food is horrible (they wouldn't even take back a steak that taste like rubber and cook it right). With the premium prices you pay, you'd expect better but they treat everyone like tourist-chumps.
Best restaurant in Vegas – Excellent food, lobster and lamb are excellent. Wine selection is excellent as well. The wait staff are friendly and superb. Recommended
Best steak house – I love this place. I go to The Palm every time i,m in Vegas.
I took an old friend of mine who turned 90 years old and the waiters made suce a fuss of her. The food was great but the service was fantastic we had a blast. They really did themselves proud.
Do yourself a favour and go!!!
great location, great food, great service – Everything about my dinning experience at The Palm was great. They have delicious steaks cooked perfect. It is expensive, but everything in Vegas is. It's worth the price tag. A definite must.
Steakhouse in the Forum Shops has a laid-back but tony feel and serves prime cuts of beef and huge lobsters. – In Short
Dark wood and colorful caricatures of famous faces (and loyal customers) cover every wall, while crisp white tablecloths evoke a Manhattan-grill vibe. Starters include creamy, flavorful lobster bisque or shrimp Bruno, shrimp sauteed with lemon, butter, white wine and Dijon. Entrees range from house-specialty jumbo Nova Scotia lobsters to some of the best steaks in town. Paired with pitch-perfect mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus, the experience is carnivore nirvana.
Great place – From its perfect and attractive location to the very kind service to excellent steaks I and my friend were very satisfied
