Better known for foie, truffles, and its mind-boggling four-story wine tower than cheap eats, Aureole nonetheless has a super happy hour--nightly from 5:30 to 7pm, you can feast on $8 yellowfin poke and sirloin sliders, washed down with $6 cocktails and pinot noir.

Fun place to throw back some vodka – This place is loopy fun! An over-the-top Russian theme is fleshed out with a massive, headless Lenin statue, bright Communist propaganda hanging from the walls and tons of vodkas chilled in an ice-bar. I haven't eaten there, but it's a really fun and quirky place to throw back a few drinks.

So Pretty – We came here for my sister's bachelorette dinner and we had a pretty good time here! The service was excellent, but the food is just good... not GREAT. The tuna tartare was a bit too spicy, but extremely fresh. I had a steak (which i think was a bit too chewy and I didn't like the sauce)

At the end of the dinner, our waiter came by and asked us if we needed anything else... and he goes, "coffee, tea, want a picture in the kitchen?" We thought that he was joking so we replied with, "sure" Then he goes, "okay, let me ask the chef" We ended up in the very clean kitchen and met the very friendly chef!

The wine tower is so cool! We saw two girls climbing up the tower to find wine.

Superb New American – Aureole is excellent in every way. The room is dramatic and quiet. The food is very good by any standard. The sweet pea ravioli starter and beef duo entree are worth a mention. The e-winebook makes navigating a large wine list a snap. The meyer lemon gelee pre-dessert was also perfect as was the service.Aureole is worth every penny

Bad Service, Bad Food, Bad Experience...Oh yeah, Overpriced too! – We wouldn't consider ourselves picky diners, but this place just didn't do it for us. My significant other and I read the previous 16 reviews BEFORE dining at China Grill and were expecting the following: great service, large portions (to share), great dining atmosphere (contemporary style), and tasty food. China Grill delivered only one of the above: the contemporary style.

Here's what we received, instead:

1. A rude server with a grouchy attitude that passed us on to another server without informing us halfway through our meal.

2. Ordered the Schezwan Steak thinking it would be large enough for two people to share (this is what China Grill prides themselves on.) The steak tasted pretty good, but the portion certainly wasn't enough for even one person so we ended up ordering more food. We think the slow economy (and hence 40% full restaurant on a Sat night) is the reason why they are skimping out on food portions now.

3. The style and decor of the restaurant is nice if you are in to the contemporary look (like we are.) Lighting was excellent and the bathrooms were clean and tidy.

Looks like the recession is affecting the attitude of the servers and, unfortunately, that attitude (and portion size) gets passed on to the diners at a hefty price.

Save your time and hard earned money and dine elsewhere.

Great Drinks - Fair Food – I wish I could do two reviews on Red Square. The first review being on the food, and the second review on the drinks (bar). My wife and I have been to Red Square a couple times, and the bar has some of the best drinks around with the bartenders also being very good. The food on the other hand is not very good. I really was disappointed and have had far better meals elsewhere. I ordered Chicken Kiev, and it was very dry and not too flavorful. Our server was very good though and that helped salvage a not so good tasting meal. I would give the food a 2 star rating and the drinks a five star rating. Overall 3 stars.

Not your typical Asian experience-Fantastic Sushi – We have dined in many different restaurants in Las Vegas and recently ate at China Grill in Mandalay Bay and we were very impressed with the cuisine and service at this spectacular multi-million dollar restaurant that features a main dining room which is a replica of a hollowed wine barrel with a unique ceiling light show during service. They recently added a sushi to menu with a Japenese trained Chef named Wai whose eclectic twists to well known dishes were fantastic. The main entrees we ordered were a Kalbi marinated Rib Eye (20 OZ bone in) and their Shanghi Lobster in a coconut curry plum cream sauce and crispy spinach that was the best whole lobster dish we ever tried. We agreed the price point was very resonable for a family style concept that emphasized variety, quality and team service. Go check out this great surpirse...

Russian? Are you sure? – OK...let's have this straight - there is nothing Russian about this restaurant besides beheaded Lenin's sculpture at the entrance, Chicken Kiev and vodka. Service was fine, it is just a wrong concept.

Anyway, for anyone considering to open a Russian restaurant in Vegas - go for it, there is NO competition!

The WORST dining experience I've ever had! – While vacationing in Vegas with a small group of about 15 people, we picked up a menu from China Grill. The menu sounded great, so we made reservations for that night. When we arrived we were a little suspicious as to why we were the only customers in there (never a good sign for a restaurant), and why it took over 25 minutes to be seated (we had a reservation, and it?s not like they were busy or anything.) We decided to have a drink at the bar (the bartender was very friendly) and check out the bathrooms (way cool!) while waiting for our table. Finally we were seated, and our waitress started out fine. She made some great sake suggestions and took our appetizer orders. She came back and took everyone?s dinner orders. Then we didn?t see her for over an hour. Someone else brought out some appetizers, which were so small we ordered more. They never came. And neither did our dinner. A couple of the people at the far end of the table received their dinners and had finished eating by the time our waitress came back to check on us. When we asked why our food hadn?t arrived, she started sobbing (yes, sobbing) and said that there was a miscommunication in the kitchen and only part of the order was prepared. Our second round of appetizers had not even been started. By this time, we had been there for over 2 hours. Although we felt bad for her we made it clear to the waitress that if she just would have checked on our table once, she would have realized there was a problem. We asked to speak to a manger that provided the worst customer service ever. No apology, no explanation, no offer to make it right. He told us to leave if we weren?t happy. We went somewhere else and will never be back. Think twice before dining here.

Worst customer service in Vegas... – This was our first stop on our Vegas trip last weekend. We had reservations at 11 PM. Our plane landed at 10 PM, so we opted for a more expensive limo so we wouldn't have to wait in the cab line and possibly miss our reservation. We arrived at China Grill right on time, only to find out they had closed the kitchen at 10:30. The hostess got the manager, who then told us our reservation had been cancelled. She couldn't tell us who cancelled, why no one had notified us, or why they would close the kitchen half an hour before their last reservation. The manager was unapologetic, made no effort to make up for their mistake other than to get us a table at Red Square. Bottom line... some of the most egregious customer service I've ever experienced.

Sit in the bar and try to go during the week – I've been to Aureole twice now and sat in the bar both times. We received immaculate service from our waiter Manuel, who after our drinks and appetizers walked us back to the kitchen to meet the chef, then back to the secret pond full of swans in the back!! As we sat down out there, he disappeared only to reappeat with special mini-muffins we could rip apart and feed the swans with! Magical magical magical. We didn't even have to slip him a $20 -- he was just fantastic as was our immaculate food. Try it!!!
