Description: Magnificent, close-up views of Lake Tahoe from the scenic east shore and long intermediate romps from Crystal Ridge and the summit of Diamond Peak (elevation 8,540 feet) are the chief attractions of this resort. The lower mountain, which is the original ski area, contains the majority of lifts and has mostly short, north-facing runs, but two-thirds of the terrain is on the upper mountain, reached by just one chairlift, the Crystal Quad. This area is a totally different environment, with lengthy intermediate trails, expert powder chutes off the ridge and acres of tree skiing in Solitude Canyon and Golden Eagle Bowl.
