Reviews for Taft Museum of Art

Reopening in 2004, this diverse art museum is set in a distinctive National Historic Landmark home. – In Short
Formerly a home built in 1820 for President Taft's half-brother, this museum's permanent collection includes works by Rembrandt, Hals, Gainsborough, Sargent, Corot and Cincinnati artist Frank Duveneck. Other works include Chinese ceramics dating from the Kangxi reign (1622-1722); 17th- and 18th-century European watches and Limoges enamels dating from the French Renaissance are also on display. Programs include weekend family activities, docent-led tours, special events and the annual Duncanson artist-in-residence program featuring an outstanding African-American artist.
