Very friendly staff and clean space. I took a Barre/Tower class and my instructor Jenny took the extra time to work with us on each movement. Her knowledge and fun approach to Pilates is not easy to find in an instructor. I look forward to taking more classes here.
I really enjoyed joining this pilates class.
The studio is small, clean and great teachers!
I definitely come back to this class!
I love this studio! Very clean, organized and quiet. The atmosphere makes workout very different I think, I am concentrated in the work right away and the time passes so fast! I've taken mat pilates class before and now after coming to Movements Afoot, I really got into the Reformer. I want to continue this workout, even considering to go to a teacher training!
A wonderful experience! My Saturday afternoon equipment class was almost private. It was a great workout and I'd most likely go back.
I recently started taking classes at movements afoot, so far its my favorite studio I have tried in NYC!! I loved both teachers I have had, the classes are quite small so the attention is very individualized. I have experience at other places over the years but I felt like I oicked up new things during my class and really felt the effects afterwards! I will absolutely keep coming back!
What a wonderful pilates studio. I purchased the 5 classes deal from LifeBooker and have been very satisfied with the classes. I have taken class with three different instructors and my favorite is Kimberly Fielding. She's encouraging and you can tell she knows what she's talking about. I've gotten deals for other pilates studios in the past that had cheap plastic reformers. That's not the case with this studio. All of the machines are the real deal and the studio is kept clean and has a welcoming feel. I have a somewhat long background in dance training, and if you do too, you may feel that there aren't enough advanced level classes for those who take to the reformer quickly or who have previous reformer experience. Now that summer Fridays have begun, I plan to take the most advanced class, "Pilates for Dancers" 3:15pm this Friday. I expect it to meet what I'm looking for in terms of a real challenge. In a nutshell, if you have the opportunity, make your way down to this studio and if your schedule permits, get yourself in one of Kimberly's classes. You won't regret it!
Great teachers! – I am hooked on the Monday at 5 class with Kylie! She gives us a total body workout and gets me moving in ways I did not know I could!
Great studio – I love Movements Afoot. The classes are great. You get a good workout and the instructors are friendly and very nice.
The studio is small, quiet, and pretty. Plants and pictures on the walls with lots of natural light make for a great pilates experience. Would recommend anyday!
Amazing! – I've gone to a few of Kim's Wednesday evening classes after buying a deal on Lifebooker, and I love it! Kim is so patient in making sure that I'm doing each exercise correctly, and I love how she doesn't have us do any one exercise for too long (great for someone with a short attention span like myself!). I've never liked yoga and things like that, but the reformer is completely different--I feel like I'm strength training and stretching at the same time, and it feels so good!
